STOP THIS 'LEGALIZED MURDER'

Pennsylvania News

Senate Holds Joint Hearing on Philadelphia Abortion Clinic Murders. On Feb. 8, 2011 two State Senate committees held a hearing on the horrors of the Philadelphia abortion clinic run by Dr. Kermit Gosnell. Giving testimony were Seth Williams (District Attorney), Ann Ponterio (Chief, Homicide) and Mariana Sorensen (Assistant District Attorney, Investigation). This horrific situation is detailed in a Grand Jury report.
Some quotes from the hearing:"The Grand Jury was most concerned at the lack of oversight."
"Our focus is on what happened at the Gosnell clinic, the murder of 7 babies and Miss Mongar, and the lack of oversight that allowed the clinic to continue."

"We seek justice on behalf of the voiceless, on behalf of the 7 children and on behalf of Miss Mongar."
The Department of Health and the Department of State "simply did not do their job."
"She [Miss Mongar] was drugged up so much that she had no chance of survival."
Ridge & Rendell Implicated in Philly Abortion Scandal?  The Phila. Grand Jury report and some who were present at the Senate hearing, blamed former top state health dept. and state dept. officials and two former governors, Ridge and Rendell, for  the deliberate  lack of oversight, inspection and enforcement over the many years that this infamous Philadelphia abortionist ran his house of horrors. Watch the news clip (see Michael Geer interviewed).
Your Tax Dollars Paying for Attorneys for Negligent Government Officials. Your tax dollars, $116,000, are paying for attorneys for the Department of State and Health workers who did nothing to respond to complaints about the Gosnell abortion clinic in Philadelphia.
Bill to Prevent Taxpayer Funding of Abortions Passes Senate Committee. The Pennsylvania Senate Banking and Insurance Committee approved Senate Bill 3, a measure that would ensure that no taxpayer funds are used to subsidize abortion coverage in health insurance plans mandated by the controversial federal healthcare law. Pennsylvania Family Institute thanks committee chairman Sen. Don White (R-Indiana) and the committee for advancing this important bill and calls on the full state Senate to pass SB 3 and send it on to the House for final passage.

Why is School Choice Right for Pennsylvania? It will improve public schools. When parents can choose, public schools are forced to compete by paying closer attention to the needs and values of parents. This competition is improving those affected public schools. In 18 out of 19 academically rigorous studies, vouchers had a positive impact on public school districts. There has never been a single study demonstrating that scholarships have a negative impact on district school performance or their ability to raise funds. Senate Bill 1, a school choice bill, is now being considered by our state senate. Read more at www.commonwealthfoundation.org.
