WHY PUBLIC UNION CONTRACTS ARE DESTROYING OUR COUNTRY
There’s a simple reason that public employees, federal, state and city, have fat salaries, Cadillac retirements and high option medical insurance programs.
The mayors and managers who sign these contracts aren’t paying them, we are!
In most cases, the top dogs are cheap politicians who are elected or appointed. For years, these mayors and appointed department heads have had no motivation whatsoever for refusing to sign any union contract no matter how inflated and heavy a burden it would place on the taxpayers.
It takes about 80 private workers to pay the retirement income of a single Los Angeles fireman or typical federal employee. Union garbage collectors in NY can earn six figure salaries starting at $70,000. This is nuts!
Why would any fat cat who wants only to remain in office so he can continue to line his pockets want to enrage the police, fireman or school teachers by fighting them when they demand more……….? OF COURSE, HE WONT! He will always go along and sign anything they put in front of him……After all, he’s going to retire on some Caribbean island…….
To allow any elected official to sign any public union contract without civilian (taxpayer) oversight is insane and is the simple reason we have gotten into this mess. The idea that anyone can work 20 years doing anything and expect to be paid and insured for the rest of his life is absolutely stupid!
Private companies, where the guy signing the union contract is the owner, or a stockholder, are always contested……… The company owner doesn’t give a damm if the union bosses are upset…. After all the money saved is his!
