  Conservatives,

Although it's the one national holiday that historically includes cemetery visits, memorials and flag ceremonies, "modern" Memorial Day has sadly become a hollow observance that's more about cooking hot dogs than commemorating fallen heroes.

That point was driven home for me when during a conversation with a friend, she admitted that she didn't know the true and somber meaning of Memorial Day.

At that moment, I realized that something needed to be done to restore this most reverent of national holidays.
