HELP SAVE MARYLAND 04/06/2021

HELP SAVE MARYLAND:

Turn Out The Lights In Annapolis

Last Chance To Snuff Out Anti-Citizen Legislation

Legislators in Annapolis Attempt Last Desperate Push to Make Maryland a Sanctuary

Citizen Action Can Make a Difference

The Time For Action Is Now! Sanctuary Bills Are Still In Play!

Unfortunately, the Maryland General Assembly is still considering illegal immigration legislation. Fortunately, the main Sanctuary State bill is not moving forward, but these other bills are smaller parts of the puzzle that will create a bigger incentive for illegal immigrants to make Maryland their home.

Please adapt the following three emails with your own names/addresses as soon as possible. Also be sure to change the line about how long you have lived in Maryland. Just copy and paste the list of email addresses for each relevant committee (below) into the “to” line.

The bill numbers are HB 15/SB 85; HB 16; and SB 478. HB 15/SB 85 already passed in BOTH chambers and have now “crossed over” to the other side; therefore, we are sending our emails to the relevant committees in the chamber opposite to where the bills originated. (The emails for HB 15/SB 85 are therefore mirror opposites of each other.)

TIME SENSITIVE: We are sending emails about HB 16 and its companion, SB 478, to the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee, where they are being voted on TODAY, April 6. Of great concern is that parts of the main Sanctuary State bill, the Trust Act, are being amended to HB 16 and SB 478. These amendments would prevent future 287g contracts and greatly restrict the use of existing 287g contracts.

Dear Members of the Senate Education, Health, and Environmental Affairs Committee:

My name is (INSERT NAME HERE), and I have lived in Maryland for (INSERT NUMBER HERE) years. I am writing in opposition to HB 15, "Governor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs,” which would administer a costly “network of neighborhood-based opportunity centers” to provide immigration services to illegal and legal aliens. It is clear from the language of the bill that the main focus of the advocacy provided by this office would be for illegal aliens. Many United States and legal Maryland residents could use help with gaining skills and finding jobs but there is no special office for them. This legislation is therefore a slap in the face of legal immigrants and Maryland citizens.

This new office would cost $400,000 annually by FY’2026, an unacceptable amount even if we were not in the midst of a pandemic. Marylanders already spend billions of dollars each year to educate and pay for health care for illegal immigrants living in Maryland. Setting up such an office would be just one more example of the Maryland legislature’s attempt to make the state a magnet for more illegal aliens. The more free services provided for illegal aliens, the greater the incentive for illegal aliens to make Maryland their home. This in turn results in higher costs of living, reduced job availability, lower wages, and higher crime rates. Therefore, I strongly oppose HB 15 and recommend an unfavorable report.

Sincerely,

Dear Members of the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee:

My name is (INSERT NAME HERE), and I have been a resident of Maryland for (INSERT NUMBER HERE) years. I am writing in opposition to HB 16/SB 478, "Correctional Services - Immigration Detention - Prohibition (Dignity Not Detention Act).” Private immigration detention facilities generally meet higher standards than local jails or prisons. If illegal aliens cannot be detained in private facilities in Maryland, they will just be held in other states, further from their lawyers and any family. Private detention facilities provide both jobs and a federal income stream to local communities that want them. Adopting a “one-size-fits-all" policy statewide would take that away from those communities. Amendments to this bill are being proposed that would prevent future 287g contracts and greatly restrict the use of existing contracts. The 287g program is a critical tool in the arsenal of enforcing immigration law in our country.

The number one priority of government is to keep its citizens safe. That includes keeping them safe from criminal illegal aliens. So it does not make sense to tie the hands of law enforcement agencies when it is their job to keep criminals off the streets. I therefore respectfully request that you vote against HB 16/SB 478.

Sincerely,

New "Immigrants" Drop In - Destination Maryland?

See the disgraceful video of Mexican Coyotes dropping two little girls (3 and 5 years old) from the top of a 14 foot Border Fence from Mexico into the United States! These Mexican criminals will do anything to make a buck! Thankfully, the Border Patrol was watching or these two infants would surely be dead. This is the type of fence that was being replaced with higher and more comprehensive fencing by the Trump Administration, but immediately stopped by the incoming Biden Regime. With millions of Americans still unemployed, these are yet another to illegals to feed, house, educate and more with taxpayer funds.

Unfortunately, it doesn't stop at these two infants. Experts are expecting nearly ONE MILLION illegal alien crossings this year, costing the taxpayers billions. And that does not capture the social and cultural costs of flooding Maryland and the nation with untold numbers of non-English speaking, poorly educated and mostly unhealthy, "uninvited guests".

Let's keep in mind that the U.S. allows about ONE MILLION legal immigrants in each year. LEGALLY. And from all over the world, not just from South of the Border. How unfair to those who try to enter the U.S. the proper way, as did my relatives, versus just pouring in illegally and expecting to be handed everything. How racist to just allow primarily Central Americans and Mexicans in illegally because they can literally walk in where as other truly diserving immigrants can not.

What You Can Do? Report to Help Save Maryland

Keep tabs on recent arrivals of illegal aliens to your community. Report to HSM numbers of arrivals, location, group(s) supporting the housing of illegals.

Report increased numbers of students being entered into the Maryland Public School System who require ESOL and other non-citizen needed support programs (linguistic experts, tutors, psychological counseling, vaccinations, etc.). Also report if any current programs and services in the schools are being cut to free up resources for the incoming illegals.

Detail any MS-13 and other Hispanic gang activities and violence impacting your neighborhood. With more foot soldiers arriving daily, local gang leaders need to keep them busy.

"More than 170,000 migrants were apprehended at the southwest border in March. The most in any month for at least 15 years and up nearly 70 percent from February 2021. Thousands of children remain in detention facilities while border agents released an increasing number of migrants into the U.S."
