The So-Called Equality Act Will CRIMINALIZE CHRISTIANITY AND MORE.
As a matter of fact, if you're an Orthodox Jew or a Muslim, you are in the crosshairs as well. Anyone who dares to practice their faith, will be on the wrong side of the law.
It's as if these morons who call themselves federal legislators believe the Constitution reads: Congress SHALL ENDEAVOR to make law disrespecting establishments of religion, and prohibiting the free exercise thereof.

We'll say it until you're tired of hearing it; the so-called Equality Act really has NOTHING to do with extending civil rights protections to a certain group of people. It was NEVER about civil rights.

Do not deceive yourself. If one clause of the 1st Amendment can be effectively eradicated, the others will follow. No freedom of the press... no freedom of assembly... none of that will be permitted unless you believe what the government tells you to believe.
Let's be real; if it were really the intention of the radical left to simply provide civil rights protections to another class of people, then the so-called Equality Act would have been written to do ONLY that and NOTHING MORE, and many people of faith would have probably supported it.
Columist Brad Polumbo, a renowned journalist who also happens to be gay, speaks to the ramifications of this vile legislation:
"The bill purports to protect LGBT Americans like me by prohibiting discrimination 'based on sex, sexual orientation and gender identity in areas including public accommodations and facilities, education, federal funding, employment, housing, credit and the jury system.' This tyrannical legislation is not just a clear and present threat to people of faith. It threatens women, children, medical professionals and the unborn. It threatens EVERYONE.

So if you're saying to yourself, 'What's the big deal... I'm not a Bible-thumper ... and those people have it coming to them anyway,' you might want to rethink your position.

Yes, that's in the law. Any institution of higher learning or government institution that wishes to build housing for married couples in which only traditional married couples are allowed, or schools, businesses and municipalities that segregate bathrooms and facilities by gender, or shelters for battered women that rightly do not want to place men in close quarters with abused women.... all of these organizations (and more) will be in the crosshairs. Catholic Culture magazine says that large numbers of people "will see their employment opportunities severely curtailed under the bogus Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) provisions of H.R. 5."

When Swift penned that manifesto many years ago and it was read into the Congressional Record, Swift back-tracked and said it was nothing more than a satirical joke.
No pun intended, but that lie has been put to bed. What Swift predicted and advocated is about to come to pass.
Rabbi Yaakov Menken, the Managing Director of the Coalition for Jewish Values gives a warning that should be heeded by all people of faith:
"Under the Act, observant Jews will no longer be legally permitted to gather to celebrate religious education, or any other occasion, in accordance with their beliefs."
Again, you read that right. The right to worship in a church or synagogue or even a mosque, AS YOUR RELIGIOUS BELIEFS DICTATE, will be put in serious jeopardy.
Section 4 of the legislation, which is subtitled "Desegregation of Public Facilities" specifically states "Section 301(a) of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 U.S.C. 2000b(a)) is amended by inserting 'sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity),' before 'or national origin'."
And therein lies the rub. Observant Jews and Muslims segregate the sexes during religious ceremonies and worship services. This bill would, deem that places of worship are "public facilities" and expressly jeopardize that practice so that continuing to worship in a manner that is elemental to the practice of one's faith could become a criminal act.
Menken again: "Congress, to the contrary, would now grant anti-Semites a powerful legal tool with which to prevent such public displays in the future. ... If bigots were bent on eliminating Orthodox Judaism from American soil, it is difficult to imagine a more ruthlessly efficient tool than the Equality Act."
And observant Christians won't get a pass either. Scripture (specifically, Genesis 1:27) states: "So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He them; male and female created He them."
If you believe whether you're a Christian or not that there are only two genders, you're a criminal... an enemy of the state. Such thinking would become double-plus-ungood because under this vile legislation gender is deemed to be merely a social construct. As such, your church will be required, UNDER THE PENALTY OF LAW, to REJECT a hefty chunk of Holy Scripture whenever the government deems it to be objectionable.
As Swift put it: "You will be expected to offer ceremonies that bless our sexual arrangements... Finally, we will in all likelihood, want to expunge a number of passages from your Scriptures and rewrite others... If all these things do not come to pass quickly, we will subject Orthodox Jews and Christians to the most sustained hatred and vilification in recent memory."
The Heritage Foundations says: "The Equality Act — introduced as H.R. 5 in the House of Representatives on February 18, 2021 — makes mainstream beliefs about marriage, as well as basic biological facts about sex differences, PUNISHABLE UNDER THE LAW." [Emphasis Ours]
According to David Dockery, the Chancellor of Trinity International University: "If passed by the U. S. Senate, this legislation would create a hostility toward religious ethics... resulting in the narrowing of opportunities for people of faith." And here's what the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops says: "The Equality Act would discriminate against people of faith. It would also inflict numerous legal and social harms on Americans of any faith or none." But don't take anybody's word for it. Women's Rights Won't Be Eradicated... They Simply Won't Exist Anymore.
It can't be stated strongly enough. We're not just talking about restrooms and women's sports here. When our laws remove distinctions between the sexes in some regards, it will, in very short order, remove them across the board... that's how the law works; and if men and women are no different, if gender is just a social construct, then women have no civil rights (as women) under the law.
"All single-sex spaces will be open to both sexes under the Equality Act... This would create a nationwide transgender policy in single-sex facilities. It would affect everything from girls' and women's showers and locker rooms to women's shelters and women's prisons, endangering safety and diminishing privacy. Giving people blanket permission to enter private spaces for the opposite sex enables sexual predators to exploit the rule and gain easy access to victims." -The Heritage Foundation
Mary Beth Waddell, Family Research Council's Director of Federal Affairs For Family and Religious Liberty, adds:
"The Equality Act undermines hard-fought gains for women in America. The Equality Act imposes on women's privacy... flagrantly denying the scientific evidence of real biological differences."
And Bishop Daniel Thomas of the Diocese of Toledo says that this legislation:
"requires women and girls to compete against men and boys in sports, and to share locker rooms and shower facilities with men and boys" and; "threatens the welfare of thousands of beneficiaries of charitable services, such as shelters and foster care agencies, by forcing a multitude of them to be shut down."Men who identify as women would have a legal right to enter a women's restroom and sleep in the same quarters as women at women's shelters, on church mission trips, in military barracks and even in our nation's prisons.
Your gender at birth will become legally irrelevant!
According to National Review, H.R. 5 harms women and girls by, "instituting transgender ideology in every sphere of life from schools, locker rooms, and sports teams, to health care and homeless shelters."
Erika Bachiochi, a renowned pro-life feminist concurs and say that "replacing 'sex' with the nebulous term 'gender identity' in anti-discrimination law would upend hard-won legal protections for women, inviting those born as male but now identifying as women into female-only spaces, including not only locker rooms and sports teams but also prisons and battered women’s shelters, where women are particularly vulnerable to male aggression."
Cissie Graham Lynch gives us examples on how such policies have fared when enacted on the local level:
"In Connecticut, which allows transgender students to compete in athletics based on gender identity, several high school girls filed a lawsuit after they lost their races to biological males who identified as females. The transgender athletes won multiple girls' state track and field titles." "After a school district in Decatur, Georgia, approved an inclusive bathroom policy, a 5-year-old girl said she was sexually assaulted in the girls' bathroom by a male student who identified as gender fluid."In short, women will no longer be safe in public restrooms, halfway houses, locker rooms, health clubs and just about any venue that has traditionally separated the sexes.
But in the end, the clear mandate of this vile legislation to consider gender as a social construct — and ignore basic biological facts about gender differences — will remove opportunities and set insurmountable bars to advancement for women across the nation in just about every aspect of public life.
