February 25th
The House Judiciary Committee will hear HB677 at 1pm.
-Disallows law enforcement agencies from contracting with private sector detention facilities for holding illegal aliens.
February 26th
Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee will hear SB 850 at noon.
-Sister bill in Senate to HB677.
Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee will hear SB 901 at noon.
-Provides immunity for state and local government officials for refusing to provide Feds information regarding individual's immigration status.
Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee will hear SB 903 at noon.
-Sister bill of HB403 which limits immigration enforcement activities in courts, hospitals and schools. See article below - President Trump just blow up a similar law in California!
February 27th
Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee will hear SB 649 at noon.
-Limits when an individual's personal information can be released by Department of Motor Vehicles to the Feds. Homeland Security, in response to a similar law in NY, has terminated enrollment in Global Entry and Trusted Traveler programs for NY residents. Expect the same response from Homeland Security should Maryland pas this dangerous law.

"The Maryland House Judiciary and Senate Judiciary Committees will consider several bills over a three-day period next week that makes it harder for law enforcement officers and government officials to work with U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE). I need you to contact your delegate and urge them to oppose House Bill 677 and contact your senator and urge them to oppose Senate Bills 649, 850, 901 and 903."

- Are costly;

The "Wise Latina" supreme court justice Sonia Sotomayor can't handle the 5-4 decision by her fellow supreme court mates allowing the Trump Administration to implement the so-called "wealth test for immigrants".
Rather than a wealth test, it is intended to penalize any immigrant attempting to earn citizenship if they use various social welfare and health programs created for citizens. Why reward any immigrants with citizenship if they are on the public dole and a drain on our society?
