Take Action: Demand Congress Save the Filibuster! The Left is on a conquest to destroy the filibuster – claiming they have to "fix" it to ensure the right to vote. In fact, at a recent CNN townhall, President Biden very clearly laid out his agenda on the filibuster – proclaiming Senate Democrats should "fundamentally alter" the filibuster – just as soon as the battle over infrastructure was wrapped up. That means Joe Biden wants to GUT the filibuster to RAM through his agenda NOW. Friend, in the currently 50-50 split Senate, the filibuster is the only thing standing between the Left and their socialist remaking of America – from granting statehood to Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico to packing the U.S. Supreme Court with as many as four new Justices. If you and I are going to keep our Republic and STOP rule by the mob majority, it’s going to take a groundswell of grassroots patriots like you demanding Congress defend the filibuster right away. Please sign FreedomWorks’ “STOP SOCIALISM: SAVE THE FILIBUSTER” Directive and demand your Senators defend the filibuster now!

Why the Senate Should Kill the Build Back Better Bill |
By FreedomWorks Senior Economist Stephen Moore via The Hill For those who believe in limited government, fiscal responsibility and the free enterprise system, Friday was one of the most ignominious days in the history of the House of Representatives. The House-passed Build Back Better bill was the fourth multi-trillion-dollar spending package that the Democratic-controlled chamber has enacted in just 12 months. Let us recount: First, in the last days of the Trump administration, the House approved a $1 trillion COVID relief bill. Then, in March, Congress approved a $1.9 trillion bill that mostly bailed out blue states which shut down their economies the year before during the pandemic. Then, last month, the House approved a $1.2 trillion sham infrastructure bill that is mostly subsidies for green-energy programs. And now we have the $2 trillion to $3 trillion social welfare/climate change bill. READ MORE HERE |

This Holiday Season, Let's Avoid The 'Gift' Of A Postal Service Bailout |
By FreedomWorks Policy Director Cesar Ybarra Via The Daily Caller It is no secret that the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) has been hemorrhaging money for years, and 2021 is no different. Last week, the USPS posted a net loss of nearly $5 billion in fiscal year 2021. Any reasonable mind would agree that this trend is unacceptable and that serious, substantive changes need to be made to get the agency on a path of financial stability. After operating at a loss for so long, few can believe that postal leadership, regulators and lawmakers have not yet taken steps to genuinely fix the Postal Service’s business model. The fiscal management of the USPS has become so dire to the point that all sides of the political spectrum recognize the perilous state of the agency and how its direction is simply unacceptable. Congratulations, Jerome Powell. Inflation Must Be Your Top Priority Now |
By FreedomWorks Senior Economist Stephen Moore via Washington Examiner One of my favorite sayings is "growing old isn’t so bad when you consider the alternative." That’s my attitude -- apparently shared by many on Wall Street -- on the Biden decision to reappoint Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell to a second term. Powell gets a C+ grade as Fed chairman, but he is far preferable at the helm than the candidate who came in second place, Fed board member Lael Brainard. Powell’s performance at the Fed has been erratic. On the one hand, he gets high marks for presiding over one of the great bull markets in world history. But real growth of the economy and real incomes have grown at a subpar rate because of his herky-jerky monetary policies. He steps on the brakes and then presses the accelerator of monetary policy at the wrong times. That is because he appears to be making up the rules as he goes along rather than sticking to a rules-based monetary policy. The latter is what the nation desperately needs. READ MORE HERE |

We Need A Little More Milton Friedman Right About Now |
By FreedomWorks Senior Economist Stephen Moore via Washington Examiner Not long ago, President Joe Biden made an offhanded comment that "Milton Friedman isn’t running the show anymore." This president has seldom spoken more valid words. And that’s where the trouble has begun. If you were to rate the three most influential economic minds of all time, you’d be hard-pressed to come up with a better trio than Adam Smith, John Maynard Keynes, and Friedman. I'm a little too young to have known Keynes or Smith, but I am old enough to have gotten to know Friedman, and I'm proud to have called him a friend. I used to have dinner with Milton and his wife, Rose, a great economist in her own right, and a few other of his close confidantes once or twice a year up in San Francisco during the last years of his life. Few academics have done more to advance human freedom than Milton. He was the leading apostle for the free enterprise system. He had a profound impact on major policy decisions, including the case for parental choice in education, expansion of free trade, and even abolition of the military draft. He was forever suspicious of government power — and for a good reason. READ MORE HERE |

What You Can Learn On A Long Walk to American Girl |
By Director of FreedomWorks' Center for Economic Freedom John Tamny via RealClearMarkets “You Are Here.” Anyone who’s read a map at a shopping mall is familiar with the latter. In my case, either I’m incapable of figuring out these maps, or too lazy to. I’d rather ask how to find whatever it is I'm looking for, only to ask again. The nice thing with the truly big stores in malls is that no map is required. Signage throughout any shopping center points customers to the large commercial names. They’re never difficult to find. That they're easy to locate is telling. It’s a reminder that while politicians, pundits and economists spout feel-good nonsense about how “small business is the backbone of the U.S. economy,” reality reveals something entirely different.
