Dear Conservatives,
These days, it's easy to become disheartened by events here in the United States and abroad. Today, I want to encourage you not to become discouraged. When we open the book of Acts, we see God at work in the early church through the Holy Spirit. In Acts 6:7, we read Paul's testimony that the Word of God flourished, the disciples multiplied, and the priests were obedient. I believe God is at work in the same way today.
I can testify that I am seeing the Word of God flourish here in Washington, D.C., and in other places. I hear of believers committed to multiplying the work of the Spirit by sharing the good news wherever they go. I praise the Lord for the pastors, priests, elders, and other church leaders stepping up to disciple their congregations and see the work of God increase. In meetings with these leaders, I see a renewed desire to faithfully minister with humility and obedience to the calling of God on their lives.
What about you? I would love to hear from you about how God is working in your life, church, and community.
One of the key ways God works in our lives is through daily time spent reading His Word. The more I make time in Scripture a priority, the greater my hunger and the more I am encouraged, no matter what happens in the world around me. If you don't already have a Bible reading plan, I invite you to check out FRC's Stand on the Word.
Together let's commit to pray for these matters before us today.
PVS Summit: Fearlessness Needed
Read: Acts 4:18-20; Ephesians 6:10-18; 1 Corinthians 16:13
Pray for all those who participated in the Pray Vote Stand Summit last week, that they will be inspired to step forward in their spheres of influence to stand for the truth of God's word.
A Concerned Citizen's Guide to Engaging with Public Schools
Read: Deuteronomy 11:19; Matthew 5:13-16; Joshua 1:9; Colossians 2:8; Proverbs 22:6
Pray that Christians involved in any part of the school system would take their cultural commission to be salt and light seriously and would not be dissuaded by government intimidation. Pray for parents to be diligent in reviewing the materials in their children's classrooms. Our children, entrusted to us by God, deserve our very best.
Worldview is Central to Determining Views on Abortion
Read: Proverbs 24:11-12; Genesis 25:22-24; Psalm 8:4-5; Matthew 1:20-21
Pray for the Lord to reveal to the Supreme Court justices the value and personhood of innocent lives in the womb. Ask Him to break through the cultural lies so many have believed to reveal the truth about the image of God, imprinted upon all humans.
What is the "Gospel"? A Deeper Look at the Historical and Literary Context Behind the Good News
Read: Romans 3:23; Ephesians 1:7; John 3:16; Luke 13:3; John 14: 6; Romans 10:9-10; John 10:10; John 14:3
Pray God's Word will be proclaimed boldly, for those who don't know Christ to be saved, and for the multiplication of disciples.
The local church plays an essential role in equipping and encouraging the saints as we stand for truth in this age of lies. Take a moment to pray for your pastor, priest, or elder to continue in obedience to the call on their life. Consider sending them a note of encouragement.
I am grateful for how God is bringing together a committed network of prayer warriors to partner with FRC in these days. Thank you for joining me in praying for our nation and the work of FRC. If I can pray for you or your family, please email me at prayer@frc.org.
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
