INVESTIGATION UPDATE —
U.S. ATTORNEY GENERAL MERRICK GARLAND'S SON-IN-LAW’S FIRM, PANORAMA, CONTRACTED WITH 23,000 PUBLIC SCHOOLS & RAISED $76M FROM INVESTORS

Our auditors at OpenTheBooks investigated Panorama Education – co-founded by Xan Tanner, Attorney General Garland’s son-in-law.

Panorama “helps educators act on data to improve student outcomes in social-emotional learning, school climate, family engagement, MTSS & more.”

Our auditors found at least $27 million in payments from states, school districts, and local boards of education to Panorama across 21 states between the years 2017 and 2020.

This includes contracts with:

  • New York City Department of Education;
  • Dallas Independent School District;
  • Seattle Public Schools;
  • District of Columbia;
  • and the San Francisco Unified School District.

However, our records include Panorama contracts in the following states:

Texas, Michigan, Florida, Indiana, Rhode Island, Oregon, Iowa, Utah, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Georgia, New Mexico, Illinois, Wyoming, California, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maine, Virginia, and Ohio.

Our investigation generated big media this week with interviews on One America News; the flagship radio station WABC New YorkAndrew Wilkow Show on Sirius XM; and in our column at Forbes.

BACKGROUND

Last week, Attorney General Garland sent a memo to the head of the FBI, directing him to work with local law enforcement “to address threats against school administrators, board members, teachers and staff.”

Critics say that Garland made the move in response to parents vocally opposing mask mandates and race-related teaching implemented by local school boards.

The move by Garland to have the FBI investigate parents at school board meetings quickly put his son-in-law’s nationwide education business — Panorama Education — in the spotlight.

READ our investigation published at Forbes to learn more about Panorama, Attorney General Garland, and the potential conflict.

Together, let's hold the political class accountable.
