In his latest shocking attack on the First Amendment, Governor Newsom signed SB 742 late Friday. We’ve been warning you about this dangerous bill for months. It’s so bad that even the ACLU raised concerns! Apparently these Constitutional objections were irrelevant to Newsom. After surviving last month’s recall election, Gavin is once again flexing his authoritarian muscle. On the surface, SB 742 claims to merely restrict disruptions around “vaccination sites.” The bill’s author Senator Richard Pan asserts the law is necessary in light of state efforts to promote the COVID-19 vaccine. But SB 742 is a Trojan Horse. Rather than targeting anti-vaccine violence (which is already illegal), SB 742 outlaws *any* outreach, discussion, or sign-holding within 100 feet of locations that offer the jab. The ban is so broad it restricts even peaceful free speech and assembly having nothing to do with coronavirus. That’s where Planned Parenthood comes in. For months, the abortion giant has been expanding their COVID-19 vaccination program. Now, thanks to Newsom, Planned Parenthood will use SB 742 as a weapon against peaceful pro-lifers. Since the law was passed as an “emergency measure,” SB 742 goes into effect immediately. This means dozens of current “40 Days for Life” campaigns across California could now be considered illegal. Prayerful sidewalk counselors may soon face citations, fines, and even jail time!

Sacramento has no right to silence the voices of compassionate sidewalk counselors. The brave women and men are successfully saving unborn babies every day in the Golden State.
