Whenever I see climate change idiocy (and/or corporate wokeness) in a corporate Annual Report or Proxy Statement I vote against all management nominees for the Board and vote No on the executive compensation package and send an e-mail to the company's investor relations or corporate secretary explaining my votes along the following lines:
"[T]he paragraph on page 8 of the 2020 Annual Report dealing with climate change seems to indicate that CVS has joined the Climate Change Cult. It appears that CVS is being carried away by the global warming nonsense espoused by many stupid politicians (such as President Biden and John Kerry) and now by many corporations. Yes, Earth's climate is currently in a warming phase which may, or may not, continue for some additional years. However, Earth's climate has always changed and always will, and there is nothing that mankind, let alone CVS, can do about it (other than to be prepared by, for example, protecting low-lying areas with sea walls and by not building in unprotected areas that may flood in the not too distant future if sea level rises a bit from current levels). In this connection, if you haven't already done so, read the interview with Dr. Steven Koonin (Chief Scientist of the U.S. Department of Energy during the Obama Administration) in the April 17 issue of the Wall Street Journal (one of the few major U.S. newspapers worth reading these days) who indicated that many of the reports forecasting doom from climate change were mere propaganda (Dr. Koonin's word, not mine) and have no real scientific basis.
