Israel’s President starts consultations on prime ministerial candidate Bibi as President?

Starting Monday, President Reuven is asking 13 party delegations for recommendations on the best candidate for forming the post-election government.
Likud as the largest party goes first, followed by opposition Yesh Atid and the rest in order of size, He will announce his decision on Tuesday when the new Knesset is sworn in or the next day.
To date, PM Binyamin Netanyahu can count on the 52 MKs of his Likud and three religious parties, while Lapid is endorsed by 45.
To reach a majority of 61, both count on two parties tipping the scales, Naftali Bennett’s Yamina and either the Joint Arab List or Manour Abba’s Ra’am.
Bennett may recommend himself, although his faction consists of only 7 seats, while the Arab parties remain uncommitted.
In the absence of a candidate capable of forming a viable, stable government, Israel may even face a fifth general election after four polls failed to resolve the political impasse.
A majority of the MKs who will be sworn in to the Knesset on Tuesday would vote for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to be Israel’s next president, a senior Likud source close to Netanyahu told The Jerusalem Post on Sunday.
By law, the election for president must be held between April 9 and June 9, before President Reuven Rivlin’s seven-year term expires on July 9. The politician closest to Netanyahu, Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin, will set the date for the vote in the Knesset, which must be held at least three weeks after the date is announced.
“I know for a fact that most of the MKs would vote for him if he decides he wants to be president,” the senior Likud source said. “It’s all in Netanyahu’s hands.”

Satellite images show huge Russian military build-up in the Arctic….

Russia is amassing unprecedented military might in the Arctic and testing its newest weapons in a region freshly ice-free due to the coming summer heat, in a bid to secure its northern coast and open up a key shipping route from Asia to Europe.
Weapons experts and Western officials have expressed particular concern about one Russian 'super-weapon,' the Poseidon 2M39 torpedo, [pictured below]
Development of the torpedo is moving fast with Russian President Vladimir Putin requesting an update on a "key stage" of the tests in February from his defence minister Sergei Shoigu, with further tests planned this year, according to multiple reports in state media.
This unmanned stealth torpedo is powered by a nuclear reactor and intended by Russian designers to sneak past coastal defences -- like those of the US -- on the sea floor.
The device is intended to deliver a warhead of multiple megatons, according to Russian officials, causing radioactive waves that would render swathes of the target coastline uninhabitable for decades.
In November, Christopher A Ford, then assistant secretary of state for International Security and Non-Proliferation, said the Poseidon is designed to "inundate U.S. coastal cities with radioactive tsunamis."
Experts agree that the weapon is "very real" and already coming to fruition. The head of Norwegian intelligence, Vice Admiral Nils Andreas Stensønes, told CNN that his agency has assessed the Poseidon as "part of the new type of nuclear deterrent weapons”.
And it is in a testing phase. But it's a strategic system and it's aimed at targets ... and has an influence far beyond the region in which they test it currently." Stensønes declined to give details on the torpedo's testing progress so far.
Putin signs law that could keep him in Kremlin until 2036.

MOSCOW; Russian President Vladimir Putin [a.k.a. Gog of Magog?] has signed a law that could keep him in office in the Kremlin until 2036, the government said on Monday.
The legislation allows him to run for two more six-year terms once his current stint ends in 2024. It follows changes to the constitution last year.
Those changes were backed in a public vote last summer and could allow Putin, 68, to potentially remain in power until the age of 83. He is currently serving his second consecutive term as president and his fourth in total.
The reform, which critics cast as a constitutional coup, was packaged with an array of other amendments that were expected to garner popular support, such as one bolstering pension protections.
The law signed by Putin limits any future president to two terms in office, but resets his term count. It prevents anyone who has held foreign citizenship from running for the Kremlin.
Vatican digs illegal tunnel to 'exhume King David's DNA and bring Messiah back to life'

A rabbi has alleged there's a sinister plot behind the illegal construction of a passage beneath a church in Jerusalem as groups demand legal action against the tunnel
The Vatican has been digging a secret tunnel in Jerusalem in order to exhume King David's DNA and resurrect the Messiah, a rabbi has claimed.
The Regavim Movement, a group dedicated to the protection of Israel's national resources, filed a petition against the Jerusalem Municipality last week demanding they take action against the tunnel.
It's claimed there is a passage approximately 1,970 feet long and 5 feet wide under the Church of the Dormition on Mount Zion, on which construction was completed about 12 years ago.
Regavim alleges Catholic authorities built the tunnel from the main building of the Dormition Abbey to the residences of the clergy in the Beit Yosef building.
The group also says the passage was constructed without permission and may have damaged archaeological artefacts during the unsupervised digging process.
But one spiritual leader is convinced the purpose of the tunnel is far more sinister than simple transportation.
Rabbi Daniel Asor [pictured above] of the Yanar Institute claims it was built to allow members of the Church of the Dormition to exhume the remains of King David (the King of Israel who killed the giant Goliath), who is believed to have been buried in Mt Zion.
Asor has also alleged that the church is acting on instructions from the Vatican, which he says has a plan to collect DNA samples from King David's bones.
The Vatican will then use his DNA to clone an entirely new human, who they will then attempt to fool the world into believing is the returned Messiah.
