Hamas looses 36 rocket blitz to back Palestinian anti-Jewish riots in Jerusalem
Sirens alerted Gaza’s Israeli neighbours to a 36-rocket barrage fired in 10 salvos overnight Friday and early Saturday, April 23-24.
Five were shot down by Iron Dome. The rest exploded on vacant ground causing no harm.
The warning had come in a joint statement from Gaza-based Palestinian terrorist organisations in support of the street violence in Jerusalem mounted by Palestinian youths against Orthodox Jews, including an attempted lynching.
Intelligence sources account for this by the many hands secretly stirring the violent pot.
One is Jordanian intelligence, on orders from the royal palace, and the Jordanian Waqf. Two, the Fatah movement ruling the West Bank from Ramallah; three and four, Hamas and the pro-Iranian Islamic Jihad and, four, the clandestine extremist Islamic movement called al-Mourabitun.
They all maintain underground cells in East Jerusalem and a presence in Jaffa
The first rocket attack came at 9 p.m., triggering sirens in the town of Sderot and nearby communities, sending residents into bomb shelters.
Palestinian terror groups have said that the rocket attacks were responses to ongoing unrest in Jerusalem, where far-right Israeli nationalists have held violent, racist demonstrations and where Arab residents of the capital have attacked a number of Jewish Israelis.
PM Binyamin Netanyahu called an emergency conference of top security and military officials on Saturday afternoon, April 24, to reverse the line taken that morning on the Palestinian overnight 36-rocket barrage from the Gaza Strip and its linkage to the surge of Palestinian Islamic assaults on Orthodox Jews.
Palestinian terrorists renewed their rocket attacks on southern Israel Saturday night.
The new aggression refuted claims that Gaza violence was driven by the violent Palestinian outbreaks in Jerusalem since the city was quiet when it began.
