I know that the restrictions have been especially tough on students. The hard work and perseverance are about to pay off. The Bay High cheerleading team made history by winning the Universal Cheerleading Association (UAC) National High School Championship in Orlando on Sunday. This is the first national championship win in the school’s history. The team was greeted by Bay High staff, classmates, and family on Monday when they returned home to Panama City. The city of Tallahassee has officially launched its new mental health crisis response unit. The Tallahassee Emergency Assessment Mobile unit (TEAM) responds to non-violent mental health emergencies in the city rather than traditional uniformed officers. It consists of a licensed mental health professional, a medic, and a police officer trained in crisis intervention. This is an excellent resource that will save lives. Read more here. |
The Gilchrist County Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Banquet on Tuesday, April 13, at Seven Hills Farm. The annual event is held to honor citizens who have made significant contributions to the citizens of the county, businesses and civic groups are also honored at this banquet.
