HELP SAVE MARYLAND 02/27/2021

Help Save Maryland - The Big Lie! ONLY 11 Million Illegal Aliens in America - Gear Up For Major Annapolis Sanctuary Hearing This Wednesday

Illegal Alien Supporters Can't Count (Among Other Things)

This is one of the best Tucker Carlson, or frankly any other segment, I have ever seen on illegal immigration.  Tucker absolutely destroys the myth that there are only 11 million illegal aliens in the U.S. hiding in plain sight.  A fake number which has been pushed by illegal supporters and their politicians in Washington for decades.

Tucker notes a 2018 Yale- MIT Study highlighting the number of illegals at between 16-29 million (22 million best guess).  And that number does not include the "citizen offspring" of the illegals while hanging out all these years.

What does it mean if Biden makes all 22+ million citizens?  It further blows up our education, welfare  and healthcare systems, dilutes the votes of Americans, adds thousands more MS-13 gang members, and overwhelms the Black community scrambling for low wage (or any jobs) and public services. But it adds lots of Democrat voters!

Maryland citizens in Montgomery, PG and Baltimore City are all to familiar with the illegal alien deluge.  Our schools are overcrowded and the quality of education is declining rapidly as ESOL and other programs for non-English speakers eats up resources.  And our property taxes keep going up to pay for these uninvited guests and their families. Casa of Maryland membership is up too. Oh Joy.

And if the 22+ million become citizens, that gives them the right to bring in more of their cousins from south of the border every year.

This all adds up to a massive Economic, Financial, Cultural and National Security threat to the Nation.

No Amnesty and No Pathway to Citizenship! Secure the Borders!  Finish the Border Wall!

MARYLAND - Howard County

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE CITIZENS OF HOWARD COUNTY

"If we fail to turn-in the petition signatures by March 5th, our campaign to Repeal Sanctuary County ends right here.

We have enough signatures.

We don't have enough money to vet and prepare the signature petitions for turn-in on March 5th.

This is crunch time.

Can you make a quick donation of $25, $50, or $150 right now?

Once we turn in this final batch of petition signatures, the Board of Elections can put Sanctuary County on the Howard County ballot in 2022 and voters, not the politicians, will decide whether Howard is a sanctuary for illegal immigrants or not.

That's it. The finish line is within sight"

"Thanks for your support. I know you know how important this is."

Lisa Kim
Chair
Citizens For A Strong and Safe Howard County

P.S.: Please share this email with your friends and family, and encourage them to make a donation. Repealing Sanctuary County will require a total team effort.

Immigration Hearing In Annapolis - Wednesday March 3 (Signup Monday March 1)

One Hearing - House Judiciary Committee - 1:30PM - 3 Dangerous Bills!

We need your help to draft and submit statements and testimony

The net effect of these three Sanctuary bills is to shut down immigration detention facilities in MD, to prohibit MD law enforcement from lawfully sharing immigration status information and transferring illegal immigrants to the custody of federal immigration authorities, and to fully fund legal representation for illegal immigrants at MD taxpayer expense.

HB 16 - Dignity Not Detention -- Banning Use of Private Detention Facilities for Illegals

Stops law enforcement from using private detention facilities to hold illegal alien criminals
  • The State, local governments, sheriffs, and their officers/employees are prohibited from entering into agreements with private detention facilities.
  • The State, local governments, sheriffs, and their officers/employees are prohibited from paying any costs associated with a private detention facility.
  • The State, local governments, sheriffs and their officers/employees are prohibited from receiving any payments from a private detention facility.
  • The State, local governments, sheriff, and their officers/employees may not approve zoning variances or permits for a private detention facility unless they provide public notice 180 days before authorizing the zoning variance or permit and allows public comments on the proposal.
  • All existing immigration detention agreements must be terminated by October 1, 2022.

Talking Points Opposing HB 16  (House Version of SB 478)
  • Private immigration detention facilities generally meet higher standards than local jails or prisons.
  • If illegal aliens cannot be detained in private facilities in Maryland, they will just be held in other states, further from their lawyers and any family.
  • Private detention facilities provide both jobs and a federal income stream to local communities that want them. Adopting a "one-size-fits-all" policy statewide would take that away from those communities.
  • The bottom line is that Maryland citizens are safer when we remove criminal illegal aliens from our streets and communities. Less places available to lock up criminals is bad public policy.
  • This bill does nothing but interfere with ICE and other law enforcement officials doing their job.  Forcing ICE to drive illegal alien criminals to out of state jails because Maryland lawmakers want to "make nice" with criminals is shocking public policy.
  • Maryland lawmakers should focus on enhancing the public health and safety, and the quality of life for all Maryland residents, and not worry about the "dignity" of those illegally in our country who have committed crimes and are set for deportation.
  •
HB 304 - State and Local Government - Participation in Federal Immigration Enforcement -

Makes Maryland a Sanctuary State Like California
  • PREVENTS:
  • Law enforcement officers from asking about citizenship or immigration status during a stop, search, or arrest
  • Law enforcement from detaining someone without a judicial warrant to investigate citizenship or immigration status or because the officer believes they are in the US illegally
  • Transfers of individuals to federal immigration officers without a judicial warrant
  • Notifying federal immigration officers of an individual's information (i.e. location/address) without a judicial warrant
  • State/local public officials from coordinating with federal immigration officials
  • State/local public officials from giving immigration officers access to buildings beyond what is accessible to the public
  • Public officials from notifying federal immigration officers about an individual's release from a correctional facility
  • PROHIBITS:
  • Communication with federal immigration officials
  • Public officials from questioning an individual about citizenship or immigration status
  • Public officials from entering into an intergovernmental service agreement or other agreement related to immigration enforcement with federal officials
  • To prove identity an individual may provide a Driver's license or ID card from a foreign country, a passport from a foreign country, or a document issued by a consulate or embassy that identifies an individual. These forms of ID may not subject an individual to a higher level of scrutiny. These documents, however, cannot be used for identification for employment verification.
  • This legislation requires public officials to notify an individual who is the subject of an inquiry by immigration officials.
  • Schools, hospitals, and courthouses must develop and publish guidelines to limit immigration enforcement to the fullest extent possible.
Talking Points Opposing HB 304 (House Version of SB 88)
  • Sanctuary policies like the ones proposed by HB 304 conflict with federal law. In 1996, Congress adopted the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act that barred state and local governments from prohibiting law enforcement and state and local officials from providing, receiving, or sharing information on illegal aliens with federal immigration officials.
  • States that implement sanctuary policies become a magnet for more illegal immigration which results in higher costs of living, reduced job availability, lower wages, MS-13 gang violence, and higher crime rates.
  • Blacks and legal Immigrants in Maryland have the most to lose if Maryland becomes a sanctuary.
  • Sanctuary policies shift the cost of illegal immigration onto citizens and legal immigrants.
  • Sanctuary policies insult legal immigrants who respect our laws and patiently waited for years and paid thousands of dollars to come to the US the right way.
  • Sanctuary policies pose national security, economic, health and public safety risks.

HB 750 - Office of the Attorney General - Right to Counsel in Immigration Proceedings Coordinator

Citizens pay the legal bills of illegal aliens trying to stay in the U.S.
  • Creates a coordinator in the Attorney General's Office for a right to counsel in immigration proceedings.
  • The role of the coordinator is to organize services and resources in order to provide legal representation to individuals detained in Maryland or who are Maryland residents detained in another state and are subject to removal from the United States.
  • If the individual is a Maryland resident who is detained outside the state and the coordinator cannot get them legal representation, then the coordinator shall give this individual a stipend to subsidize their legal representation costs.
  • The legal representation goes until there is a final judgment by the Board of Immigration Appeals and all other legal matters affecting relief such as family court proceedings and habeas petitions have final judgments.
  • The coordinator must also designate community groups to educate individuals and families impacted by immigration detention by hosting "know-your-rights" workshops, distributing written information, assisting communities in the formation and maintenance of neighborhood defense committees and any other activity to inform individuals about their rights.
  • If a local jurisdiction provides legal representation to individuals in deportation proceedings, the coordinator shall direct the funding that would have gone to the individual's representation to the jurisdiction.
Talking Points Opposing HB 750
  • Illegal aliens should not be provided taxpayer-funded legal representation. The law provides legal representation for criminal prosecutions only. Most immigration proceedings, including removal proceedings are civil and do not trigger free representation. The Supreme Court has ruled that deportation is not a punishment but rather a civil administrative procedure whereby an illegal alien is returned to their homeland.
  • Providing taxpayer-funded legal representation is unfair because it is unavailable to legal aliens or citizens who are required to pay out of their own pockets for their own civil legal proceedings.
  • Providing taxpayer-funded legal representation to illegal aliens further strains the state's limited financial resources in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Providing legal representation to illegal aliens frustrates federal law which expressly prohibits the federal government from funding illegal aliens in removal proceedings. Aliens who wish to be represented by legal counsel are free to do so, but federal law requires that it must be offered at no cost to the government.
