NEWS FROM THE SECOND DISTRICT   Dear Friend, During my weeks in Washington, D.C., I enjoy going through the local news to see what positive stories are coming out of our district. Whether it’s random acts of kindness or stories about resilience, you never fail to make me proud. Yes No I don't know   Click to open in a separate window   By participating in this survey, you agree to receive additional communications from Congressman Dunn's office.         Calhoun County will soon have its first-ever solar farms: the Florida Power & Light (FPL) Chipola River Solar Energy Center located near Clarksville and the FPL Flowers Creek Solar Energy Center located near Altha. This is great news for our district as these solar farms will create hundreds of jobs during construction and will increase the county’s tax revenue, giving a boost to the local economy for as long as the solar farms remain in operation. Read the full story here.     The Cape St. George Lighthouse reopened on Monday after a "significant restoration project" had the lighthouse closed throughout January. This restoration project is the largest since the lighthouse was originally reconstructed at the center of St. George Island in 2008. Read more about the Cape St. George Lighthouse here.     Kevin Hilliard is a true hometown hero! His courage and quick thinking saved many lives last Wednesday. A gunman entered a local restaurant and threatened to harm the customers. Kevin quickly sprung into action blocking the gunman from the customers until law enforcement arrived. Thank you, Kevin!
