GOOD NEWS FROM THE SECOND DISTRICTDear friend, As we await the results of the election, I want to share some good news. In times of uncertainty, it is important to remain positive. Here are a few stories to get your weekend started. Peter Herrick, a veteran who was paralyzed in a mortar attack in 2004, has found an outlet in the arts. Despite being paralyzed from the neck down, Herrick has persevered through the adversity and taken up painting through the VA, where he creates beautiful works of art using a custom paintbrush and rotating easel. Lastly, I would like to shed light on this week’s election. Though frustrating, confusing, tiring, and more it is important to remember the big picture. Your friends will still be your friends, your neighbors will still wave to you in passing, and for the most part, people generally have good intentions. This opinion piece from the Tallahassee Democrat sums it up perfectly. We are all still part of one family – the United States of America.
