Friend - I have an important announcement, and I need you to read this entire email.
This is incredibly personal to me. I put my life on the line in Iraq to defend a fledgling democracy, and I flew missions to protect free and fair elections. I care deeply about the elections that take place in Michigan — my home, and where I am raising my children.
This campaign is not about me, it never has been. It’s about making sure the People of Michigan have been heard loud and clear.
Elections must be free, fair, and honest.
That is the principle at the foundation of our democracy, and the People of Michigan deserve to know for a fact that their vote has been counted. We must protect the integrity of our electoral process above all else — if we do not, our democracy will be in grave danger.
Voters must have confidence that our elections have been conducted with integrity and that they were not disenfranchised.
Although Senator Peters is ahead, I have deep concerns that a sizable number of Michiganders may have been disenfranchised.
That’s why I have asked my team to investigate and determine. I am 100% committed to making sure that every single legal vote is counted.

But right now, there are enough widely reported inconsistencies to warrant an investigation to ensure that elections were conducted in a transparent, legal, and fair manner. Those who object to this fair and legal process likely have something to hide.
