This Week in the Office of Senator Marco RubioOn Thursday, as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, I worked with Senators Susan Collins (R-ME) and Lamar Alexander (R-TN) to release the Keeping Workers Paid and Employed Act, a $300 billion small business emergency economic relief plan that will help small businesses impacted by the coronavirus pandemic make payroll and cover expenses. On Sunday, as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, I sent a letter to Jovita Carranza, Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), urging the agency to issue an Economic Injury Disaster Loan declaration for the State of Florida to help businesses that are suffering from economic injury due to the coronavirus receive SBA EIDL loans. On Monday, I joined Senators Jim Risch (R-ID), Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, John Barrasso (R-WY), and Cory Gardner (R-CO) in issuing a joint statement in response to recent disinformation campaign by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regarding the origins of COVID-19, a virus that originated in Wuhan, China.
