As televised impeachment hearings are set to begin on Wednesday, a leaked GOP document is providing a behind-the-scenes outline of the Trump defense strategy.
The memo was written by top Republicans who were given access to the closed- door basement hearings run by Shifty Adam Schiff over the past month.
The document obtained by Fox News, CNN, and other news outlets makes the case that Democrats have not provided evidence of any quid pro quo during the July 25 call between POTUS and Ukraine President Volodumyr Zelenskiy. The GOP memo writers also express frustration that the hearings will remain “one-sided, partisan and fundamentally unfair” even though they will be going public tomorrow.
Four clear takeaways from the evidence listed in the memo:
1. When Trump called Zelenskiy, there were no indications of a quid pro quo—no conditions or pressure placed in exchange for Ukraine to conduct investigations on VP Joe Biden or his son, Hunter.
2. Both Zelenskiy and Trump said there was no pressure involved.
3. Ukraine’s government did not know a hold on aid had been imposed at the time of the call.
4. The hold on aid was lifted on September 11.
The GOP memo writers also included other concerns, such as:
Another key to the Trump impeachment defense according to the memo: Trump had a “deep-seated, genuine and reasonable skepticism of Ukraine and U.S. taxpayer-funded foreign aid” because of the “pervasive corruption” in the Ukraine since the Soviet Union’s collapse.
The memo writers also claim Ukrainian government officials interfered in the 2016 presidential election in favor of Hillary Clinton. However, this has not been proven, according to Fox News.

Newt Gingrich says the entire impeachment is “garbage.”:
Tuesday morning on Fox and Friends, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich didn’t mince words as he pointed out some powerful points on what the Democrats are doing and how Trump should respond. “There is nothing here,” said Gingrich. “Presidents who want to find the truth have every right to say to a foreign government, ‘Will you help me get to the truth?’ And that’s what Trump was doing.” [WATCH VIDEO]
Lindsey Graham: impeachment case is ‘dead on arrival’:
During an interview on “Sunday Morning Futures” with Fox host Maria Bartiromo, Graham let everyone know that public testimony from the whistleblower is required for the GOP led Senate to seriously consider the case. “It’s impossible to bring this case forward, in my view, fairly, without us knowing who the whistleblower is and having a chance to cross-examine him about any biases that they may have.” [Watch Entire Interview]
The Impeachment Drivers are counting on the ‘stupidity of the American voter’:
Townhall writer William Marshall wrote an op-ed that compares Adam Schiff to Jonathan Gruber—the guy credited as being the “architect” of Obamacare. “Today, we have Jonathan Gruber 2.0 in Rep. Adam Schiff. Through a faux impeachment process headed by Schiff, we’re seeing the same sort of mass deception that occurred with the formulation of Obamacare. This time, the grand lie through which the Democrats hope to dupe the American populace is the “impeachment inquiry” they are carrying out in a spectacle worthy of Vladimir Lenin.” Read this compelling comparison and his stunning conclusion [hint: it’s not good for Democrats] HERE.
