"Schrebergaerten": garden colonies where people (mostly people who live 
in a city apartment) rent a small piece of land, have a tiny little 
house on it, grow fruits and vegetables, relax in their time off work..

SPD: Social Democratic Party

Union: The party of chancellor Mer-kill, a formerly conservative party - 
now as left as SPD and Green Party

AfD: Alternative for Deutschland, the only opposition in the political 
field against all the other parties (which are all left to very far 
left) - The AfD stands for the values that have been the values of the 
Union prior to 2002 - but now the Union is calling them "right wings"...
