Dear Conservatives, Seven years ago yesterday, 1LT Clint Lorance made the life-saving decision to order his overwatch vehicle to fire at a motorcycle carrying three military-age men that was gunning toward his platoon on a combat foot patrol in Kandahar, Afghanistan. As you know, Clint was relieved as platoon leader, charged with double murder and attempted murder, convicted, and sentenced to 20 years at Fort Leavenworth – where he’s served 6 years to date. Now, Clint’s legal team has uncovered earth-shattering evidence that stands to blow his case wide open. Will you donate $35, $50, $100, or more to help fund the next step in Clint’s case today? On July 19th, Clint’s attorneys will file a brief with the Federal civilian court in Kansas to introduce the testimony of the aerostat operator “eye in the sky blimp” on the morning of July 2, 2012. The aerostat uses powerful cameras to monitor the battlefield and provide tactical advantages to our Warriors. And, that fateful morning, the operator personally observed three fighting age males armed with AK 47 assault rifles and radios shadowing Clint’s platoon during their patrol – before Clint ordered his Paratroopers to fire. The aerostat operator alerted tactical operations to warn Clint. He also preserved the report and video footage and turned it over to the tactical operations center. During the investigation into Clint, the Army investigators never questioned the aerostat operator. Worse, prosecutors never turned the report or the film footage over to the Court or Clint’s legal team at trial. We’re talking about evidence that would PROVE Clint’s innocence – which is why I’m asking you to donate $35, $50, $100, or more to help fund this critical legal brief. The aerostat operator’s sworn declaration relaying the events of July 2, 2012, is part of what Clint’s attorneys will file on July 19th. They will also submit additional discovery and requests for the government to produce critical information. At this point, the judge could rule on Clint’s habeas corpus petition, decide to order depositions, or hold a hearing. Either would be terrific news for Clint. And, it’s up to you and me to make sure Clint’s legal team, to include the investigators working on his behalf uncovering additional evidence the prosecutors withheld, has the resources to be ready to present their best case. So, can I count on your donation of $35, $50, $100, or more today? We’ve had a lot of good news for our Warriors lately. Your continued support will keep momentum building in our favor and hopefully deliver a much-needed win for Clint. Thank you in advance for your continued generosity.
