Our First Coffee with the Councilwoman... and our Mayor!
Please join us Tuesday, Jan. 29, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Lulu's Bread and Breakfast, 6720 Sky Pointe Drive, for coffee with Councilwoman Michele Fiore and special guest to kick it off Mayor Carolyn Goodman. We are so excited about this new event and can't wait to see you there!
It's Official
As of today, January 25, 2019 my elected position as the RNC Committeewoman for Nevada was ratified at our RNC Winter Meeting in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Thank you Chairman McDonald, Diana Orrock, Nevada, Ronna McDaniel and the whole body of the RNC. I'm excited to be part of the RNC!
We also have a cigar caucus and of course cigars are fabulous so I'm in the caucus. We had three days of business and a couple of hours of our cigar caucus. It was a blast.

Mayor Goodman's State Of The City
Mayor Goodman's State Of The City
Jan. 10, 2019, was exciting for the city of Las Vegas when Mayor Goodman gave her annual State of the City address.
Here is a picture of the Council members toasting the city before the speech.
As always, she gave a wonderful speech as she looked back on 2018 accomplishments and laid out some fantastic goals for 2019 - our Mayor is full steam ahead! To prove it, right after the speech, we all gathered at the Downtown Events Center for the big announcement and presentation of new the Circa Hotel in downtown!

The Polish American Club Honored
We were so excited to honor The Polish American Club at the Jan. 16 City Council Meeting! The Polish American Club of Las Vegas celebrated its 50th anniversary this year, and Poland celebrated 100 years of independence Nov. 11, 2018. Nevada is home to approximately 15,000 Polish people and nearly 40,000 others of Polish decent. Ms. Iwona Podzorski, president of the club, spoke about the history of Poland and the local club and its activities, and then some members shared a Polish folk song, along with showing pictures of the beautiful country of Poland. They also brought us some of the most delicious food, which we all thoroughly enjoyed!
Our Citizen Of The Month
One of the highest awards Las Vegas presents is the Citizen of the Month Award, and at the Jan. 16, 2019, City Council meeting, this honor was given to a wonderful man, Kyle Stephens. Thank you Mayor Pro-Tem, Lois Tarkanian, for awarding Kyle Stephens with being the City of Las Vegas's Citizen of the Month.
Stephens is a former member of the Nevada Assembly and it was such an honor to serve with him.
Because he is a mentor of mine, we just had to have him be part of our team, so in April of 2018, our Ward 6 office appointed him to serve on the Clark County Regional Flood Control District Citizens' Advisory Committee. Additionally, Kyle was appointed a member on the Las Vegas Park and Recreation Advisory Commission in 2007 by Councilwoman Tarkanian.
He graduated from Brigham Young University and has worked for 35-years as an Account Representative for Brady Industries, LLC, a Las Vegas based hospitality supply company. In that capacity he has worked with managers in several local Southern Nevada businesses, including hotels, casinos, motels, restaurants and apartment complexes.
Kyle has a long history of actively participating in the Las Vegas community. Over the years he has taken on leadership responsibilities in a number of organizations, such as Citizens for Responsible Government, the Boy Scouts of America and church youth groups. He currently serves as the Rainbow Family Park Ambassador in Las Vegas City Councilwoman Lois Tarkanian’s city council ward.
He and his wife Julia have three children - Justin, Deven, and Diana. He also enjoys snow skiing and community service projects.
Potential Business & Savings in our great city.
Remember my last email blast where I said, "NEVER APOLOGIZE FOR WORKING YOUR ASSETS OFF"
Well, you've got to be amused on how the Las Vegas Review Journal works really hard to twist things. While in Barcelona, Spain, for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, I scheduled a few meetings as the Councilwoman, separate from the LVCVA, once I was done with LVCVA business. I met Serge Conesa, founder and CEO of a new technology start-up called Immersion4. His company has developed an amazing new technology to cool computer servers and equipment. When Conesa and his company came to Las Vegas this past week to attend the Computer Electronics Show and had their new technology on display, I arranged a special meeting and demonstration with the head of Information Technologies for the city of Las Vegas. Due to this presentation, the city is now considering a pilot program with Immersion4. This new technology could potentially save the city tens of thousands of dollars a year! Very exciting! I also had them meet with Switch and LV.Net. And the Las Vegas Review Journal wants to call business meetings vacation, HA, sorry Las Vegas Review Journal you're barking up the wrong tree Art Kane & Jeff German. Please stop being complete JERKS! I actually love my job and working hard for the people.
Let me tell you a little story about Art Kane with the Las Vegas Review Journal, he called my office a couple of weeks ago and asked my chief of staff, Dan Burdish, if he could talk to me, he had a few questions about the LVCVA board I sit on. Dan didn't see a problem with it. I have an open door policy with the press until they misrepresent me in their story then they'll be banned from my office, if they are fair and accurate then I'll engage. This moron, Art Kane, shows up at city hall with a photographer, camera guy and Jeff German at the end of the day Thursday. Art didn't mention any cameras or Jeff, it was a total trying to do a gotcha set up. So I told Dan reschedule it, I'll come in after the Martin Luther King parade for 15 minutes, this way I could at least put my lipstick on if I know cameras are showing up. I already knew they had ill intentions and I showed up anyway because I said I would. Art Kane thought he was an interrogating officer, just a complete rude jackass. Jeff sat there kinda quiet however, he was an accomplice, so now both Art Kane & Jeff German has joined the NOT ALLOWED IN MY SPACE club. Congratulations men, you've taught me a lot during our combative 15 minutes. Sometimes I wonder about the background of these men that write utter garbage about others, like, are they on the sexual offender list in another state, do they have back child support they never paid, you know these folks that hunt elected officials should be careful that they don't become the hunted. Putting a couple of dollars on social media with facts available to the public is so possible today even if some might think they're safe because they've changed they're name to be a writer. It's the technology age, boys, anyone can find out anything about anybody and then post it. You might be able to hide behind the Las Vegas Review Journal but you can't hide from the internet. Think about who you write about because some of us fight back. OK, enough of my RANT.
Now For Some More Sunshine
Justice Michael Cherry
Justice Michael Cherry
What an honor it was to attend the retirement celebration for Justice Michael Cherry and to witness his receipt of the first "Justice Michael Cherry Tikkun Olam Community Service Award," presented to him by Congregation Ner Tamid. Justice Cherry has been an attorney here in Nevada since 1970, was elected to the Supreme Court in 2006, and previously served as Chief Justice in 2012 and 2017. I have always been a great admirer of Justice Cherry and wish him all the best in his retirement from the bench. We have been so well served by him - thank you, Justice Cherry!
Here is information about the new annual award named for him...
New Justices!
Since Justice Cherry retired, we have sworn in two new Supreme Court Justices. It was inspiring to attend their investiture ceremony Jan. 10, 2019, at the Clark County government complex. Welcome to the bench, Justice Abbi Silver and Justice Elissa Cadish

Off To The Rodeo
Jake took first place in Barrels and it was his trainers birthday, Bailey Fullmer, he had to get her red roses. I think he has a crush.
LOVE The Show
My Grand Princess Jayden is five years old and on a dance team. During Christmas she told me when she grows up she wants to dance in the shows. I took her to LOVE, she loved it, her greatest quote during the show was, "I've never danced like that but I can".
Our team is always here to serve you. I always report on all we do.
If there's one thing I've learned from negative attacks is not to ever let a hater dictate all the great things we do. Never allow others to discourage all the work, energy and effort we put in to make our communities better and bring more business to our great state of Nevada.
I love you guys.
Love,
Michele
