House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy just introduced the Build the Wall, Enforce the Law Act (HR 7059) which would FULLY fund the border wall, cut off federal funds to so-called Sanctuary Cities and fully implement Kate's Law.
But we must be frank for just a moment. In spite of what you may be hearing, Republican majorities are in serious jeopardy in both the House of Representatives and the Senate and that means that unless we pass HR 7509 NOW, we can kiss border security and any meaningful immigration reform goodbye!
And yet, in spite of the urgency... in spite of the need to keep their majorities, Paul Ryan and Republicans-In-Name-Only in the House and the Senate are secretly plotting to scuttle HR 7509. They'd rather hand the House and the Senate over to Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer than keep a solemn oath they made to the voters years ago.
That's unacceptable folks! The clock, quite literally, is ticking. If we don't force Congress to pass HR 7509 RIGHT NOW and send it to President Trump's desk, you can kiss ANY meaningful immigration reform goodbye for years to come and we're not about to let that happen! You Read That Right! GOP Elites Would Rather Lose Both Houses Of Congress Than Enact Meaningful Immigration Reform!
Don't take our word for it. You only need to read between the lines.
When the media confronted the outgoing Republican Speaker of the House on McCarthy's immigration bill, Ryan told reporters "We intend on having a full-fledged discussion about how to complete this mission of securing our border."
Translation? Hell will freeze over before we ever do anything about illegal immigration... now shut up and go to the polls in November.
As the liberal New York Times put it: "Ryan said he and others in Congress did not think a funding fight made sense ahead of the midterms."
You read that right! Paul Ryan is promising to discuss meaningful immigration reform AFTER the November election... an election Republicans are in jeopardy of losing precisely because they have refused to send a bill to the President's desk that would fully fund any sincere efforts to control our borders!
And Ryan is not alone. Senator Richard Shelby who chairs the powerful Senate Appropriations Committee... the committee that must move this bill forward to the full Senate for a vote... said that McCarthy's proposal is"impossible" and other Republican leaders in both Houses of Congress are declaring HR 7509 Dead On Arrival.
As a matter of fact, HR 759 only has a meager 20 cosponsors because House Republicans are so scared of GOP leaders they don't dare sign onto it... but with your help, we're going to change that cowardice right here and right now!
Yet again, Republican elected officials are lying to each and every one of us. There is nothing "impossible" about passing meaningful immigration reform and there is no reason to wait until after the election to do it. They still have the majority.
And as much as we hate to say it, it's time to let these elected officials know, in no uncertain terms, that a federal election is less than three weeks away and if they don't pass HR 7509 now and send it to the President's desk that they won't have the majority after November 6th.

We're Not Going To Let Them Get Away With It!
HR 7509 should have been passed long ago because, in spite of what the liberal media is telling you, border walls work!
If you've been deceived by that false narrative, talk to the residents of El Paso Texas. According to the New York Post:
"In fact, the number of deportable illegal immigrants located by the US Border Patrol plummeted by more than 89 percent over the five-year period during which the controversial new fence was built... When the project first started in 2006, illegal crossings totaled 122,261, but by 2010, when the 131-mile fence was completed from one end of El Paso out into the New Mexico desert, immigrant crossings shrank to just 12,251." "El Paso become one of the safest large cities in America... According to FBI tables, property crimes in El Paso have plunged more than 37 percent to 12,357 from their pre-fence peak of 19,702 a year, while violent crimes have dropped more than 6 percent to 2,682 from a peak of 2,861 a year." "Drug smuggling along that border entry point has also fallen dramatically. In fact, since the fence was completed, the volume of marijuana and cocaine coming through El Paso and seized by Border Patrol agents has been cut in half." And while you're at it, talk to the people of Israel. Even the left-leaning Politifact could not dispute the effectiveness of Israel's border fence:
"The number of people illegally crossing the Israel-Egypt border was more than 16,000 in 2011 and less than 20 in 2016, a 99 percent decrease." Even USA Today had to admit the success of securing the border outside of Yuma Arizona:
"Even under lax enforcement standards, apprehensions in fiscal year 2016 were roughly a 10th of what they were in FY 2005 — and are on track to be even lower this year. Crime has significantly decreased in the Yuma area, and smugglers now look for other less difficult areas of the border to cross — often areas without fencing." It's time to demand that Republicans in Congress keep their promise to fully fund the wall... it's time to demand that they do it now.

But HR 7509 Does More Than Fully Fund The Border Wall.
It's time to dispel some myths. There are far too many people out there who've taken some destructive false narratives at face value.
Detractors will tell you that people can climb walls, or tunnel under walls or cross bodies of water, and because of those obvious alternatives a border wall would be simply ineffective.
That's HOGWASH... the reality is that the ACTUAL PURPOSE of the wall is to force people to climb... or build tunnels... or make water crossing. Walls are hard to climb, tunnels take months to construct and are easily detected and destroyed and only small numbers of people can make water crossings at any given time...THAT'S THE POINT... THAT'S PRECISELY WHY BORDER WALLS WORK!
But HR 7509 does a great deal more than fully fund the border wall.
Kate's law, for example, would set mandatory minimums for any illegal alien criminal who is caught in the country after previously being deported. It's simply common sense.
And the cutting-off of federal funds to so-called sanctuary cities also makes sense. Keep in mind that these states and localities are receiving federal funds specifically for the purpose of aiding cooperation and enforcement efforts with federal agencies. If they're not going to aid in those efforts, why are they receiving federal tax dollars?
Moreover, when there is nowhere to run and nowhere to hide, those who choose to flout our laws will think twice before coming into the United States illegally.
It's time to get serious. At this very moment, a caravan of thousands of people are on the march to cross into the United States from Honduras and other Central American countries. To be fair, many of them are doing it because they are fleeing horrid conditions in their home countries and, to be quite frank, as a compassionate country, we can work on ways to address these situations in a manner that is both efficient and compassionate.
But, on the other hand, they are also boldly crossing our border because they know that immigration enforcement in the United States is a big, fat joke.
And we're not laughing anymore. It's time to get serious now because if we don't fix this problem now, we can kiss meaningful immigration reform goodbye for years to come and that is simply unacceptable to us. Is it unacceptable to you?
