A brand new study by the Media Research Center’s Rich Noyes and Mike Ciandella shows that the broadcast networks remain as hostile as ever toward President Trump.
The study, released yesterday, revealed that an astounding 91% of ABC, CBS, and NBC coverage of Trump during the summer months was BAD PRESS.
The MRC’s study is already making waves. Last night’s edition of The Five on Fox News began with a lengthy discussion about the study. Sean Hannity and Monica Crowley also discussed the shocking findings on Hannity. Additionally,Fox and Friends and Lou Dobbs Tonight both highlighted the study and its implications regarding the liberal media. The study was even referenced in theWashington Times.
Noyes and Ciandella analyzed every mention of President Trump on ABC’sWorld News Tonight, the CBS Evening News, and NBC Nightly News from June 1 through August 31, and found 91% negative coverage, compared with only 9% positive.
The study did find, however, that while the coverage of President Trump is negative as ever, the portion of these broadcasts devoted to Trump-related issues has declined a bit as the year has gone on. While these major networks spent well over half of their airtime covering the President (mostly negatively) in January and February, that percentage dropped to a low of 29% in August.
