Obama scoffed at the notion that the $400 million dollars in small unmarked foreign bills was a ransom payment. Scolding the American people in front of the cameras, he practically wagged his finger and defiantly stated "We Do Not Pay Ransom." Hogwash. Obama seems to be the only one who holds that opinion. One of the Iranian captive, a Christian pastor by the name of Saeed Abedini tells a very different story. As recounted by Gary Bauer: "Pastor Abedini says on the night of their release the hostages were taken to the airport and told they would soon be free. But hours passed with nothing happening. Abedini asked one of their guards what was causing the delay. The guard told him, 'we are waiting for another plane,' and only then are we 'going to let you go.'" 
Most right-minded people agree. Here's what former United Nations Ambassador John Bolton had to say:
"Of course [it was] ransom... I don't think there's any way of getting around it."
According to The Weekly Standard: "[T]he United States was under no legal obligation to pay Iran money that was no longer Iran's.
Yes, it was ransom, billed to the U.S. taxpayer."
Conservative Daily writes: "Iranian State Media ran stories detailing that the payment was a
ransom payment. Since then, Iran has taken other
Americans hostage, no doubt recognizing that Obama is willing to break
the law and pay whatever ransom they want."
And even the Iranians agree. Speaking for the Mullahs of Iran, Iranian Brigadier General Reza Naqdi proudly proclaimed:
"This money was returned for the freedom of the U.S. spy and it was not related to the [nuclear] negotiations."
Of course, the lap dog media is ignoring Abedini and the Iranians in order to protect the Obama Regime from a scandal that is egregious enough to force Obama from office even though his term is coming to an end. There were virtually no follow-up questions to Obama's bogus and egotistical denials that he didn't pay ransom, and now, the lives of a countless number of Americans have been placed in jeopardy. To simply say this highly criminal money-laundering scheme to fill the coffers of the Mullahs of Iran is a violation of the law, may be an understatement. David Horowitz's Frontpagemag.com calls it "TREASON." "This is simply treason. Obama is aiding and abetting the murder of Americans. He's funding terrorism. He's funding Iran's wars in the region... Obama deliberately dodged the law by using foreign currency from foreign banks and hiding the smuggling operation from Americans." As you may recall, Obama's own Justice Department objected to this money-laundering scheme. The Obama Regime assures us that DOJ only objected because the "optics" were bad. That's a big load of baloney. The DOJ is a law-enforcement agency... it is not concerned with optics.
Andrew McCarthy, a former assistant U.S. attorney in the Bush Administration and an editor at National Review, writes:
"The Justice Department's principal job is to
enforce the laws, not to ensure good policy in foreign relations. It
seems far more likely that Justice was worried that the transaction was
illegal."
Fox News' Charles Krauthammer reached the same conclusion:
"Well of course the Justice Department
objected. It was illegal. ... The reason that it was objected to by
Justice, there is a statute that prohibits us from engaging in Iran
dealing with dollars. So they had to... they had to print the money
here, ship it over to Switzerland, turn it into Swiss francs and euros,
and ship it over to Iran. If a private company had done this, this is
called money laundering, the CEO would be in jail right now."
McCarthy and Krauthammer's points must not be understated. Barack Obama didn't simply violate the law. His people intentionally attempted to obscure illegal acts through illegal money-laundering and racketeering. And the obstruction has been ongoing. According to the Washington Free Beacon: "Nearly eight months after congressional officials demanded a formal accounting of this payment... the administration is still declining to provide lawmakers with the full story." You read that right. We have no idea how Obama even got his hands on this $400 million... we have no idea how much money has been given to the Mullahs of Iran under the table. Obama claims this ransom payment was no secret and in a sense, he's right. We know it's no secret because Obama's has been stonewalling Congress on just about every detail of this non-secret for nine months. It's high time that Congress simply stop politely asking for details. It's time for Congress, on behalf of the American people, to get some answers and put some necks on the chopping block, and they're only going to do that if you force the issue.
