Man In Politics"
In Colorado, one state senator's refusal to back down on his pro-gun stance has left-wing dark money groups seething with anger.
Republican Senator Tim Neville, who's currently running against liberal Democrat Michael Bennet for the Colorado U.S. Senate seat, is now closing in on passage of a Constitutional Carry bill in the State Senate, despite the bleatings of the liberal press.
ProgressNow Colorado, the state's largest online progressive advocacy organization and a liberal haven for political correctness, has resorted to personal attacks on the Senate Candidate in what appears to be a full-fledged smear campaign.
Because of Neville's ardent pro-gun stance, many radical left-wing progressives are calling him "The Most Dangerous Politician in America" for his no-compromise approach on conservative principles like gun rights, but says he considers the attacks a "badge of honor."
Neville's bill guarantees no law-abiding citizen in Colorado would be left defenseless should they choose to arm themselves.
"I firmly believe that if any of the 14 unarmed innocent Americans murdered in San Bernardino were legally allowed to carry a gun, you and I wouldn't have seen the slaughter that ensued at the hands of radical Islamic terrorists," Neville stated.
"The Founders included the Second Amendment as a bulwark against tyranny. But the Second Amendment is about more than just that. The right to keep and bear arms serves as the foundation for personal and family safety," Neville continued.
Tim Neville's Campaign for U.S. Senate
The Colorado-based pro-gun lobby Rocky Mountain Gun Owners (RMGO) has labeled Tim Neville as the most pro-gun Senator in Colorado.
Neville's also been endorsed by the National Association for Gun Rights' PAC and is a favorite among many gun rights supporters to take on Michael Bennet in 2016.
In fact, Neville has vowed to be "the most pro-gun Senator in Washington."
According to his campaign platform, Neville also pledges to:
>>> Restore the God-given right to keep and bear arms of all Americans by fighting to abolish ANY and ALL unconstitutional federal gun laws currently on the books.
>>> Defeat international gun control schemes like the United Nations' "Small Arms Treaty."
Neville opposes all attempts by international organizations to regulate the Second Amendment rights of the American people, and will lead the fight to end taxpayer funding that props up the United Nations' global gun-control agenda.
>>> Stand up and fight against any attempt by the federal government to further infringe on the God-given right of the people of Colorado to keep and bear arms;
>>> Use any means necessary to BLOCK or DEFEAT any attempt by radical gun-grabbers like Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi to reinstate the so-called "Assault Weapons Ban."
"2016 could be a do-or-die moment for gun owners. And with the rise of ISIS, disarming the American public is one of the most dangerous national security risks facing this country," Neville explained in a recent speech to conservatives.
Tim Neville's Personal Background
At the young age of seven, Tim's mother passed away, leaving his father to raise four children by himself.
"At the age of 21, I packed up my few belongings, grabbed my $200 in savings, hopped into my 1961 Ford Galaxie 500 and headed across the country to Colorado in pursuit of my version of the American Dream," recounted Neville.
"The day after I arrived I got a job working as a cook at Elly May's Kitchen -- a family-owned restaurant where I met the love of my life and the mother of my children, Barb."
Through hard work, Tim paid for his own education, earning a Business Administration degree with a minor in Economics from Regis University.
Barb and Tim have been married for 37 years and are blessed with two boys and five grandchildren.
Barb states that they worked hard over the years to make sure their two boys grew up with a deep respect for faith, family, country and freedom.
"Whether coaching Joe and Patrick in soccer, basketball and baseball, or volunteering in the community, Tim always made it a point to lead by example," Barb said.
Neville's son Patrick earned a Bronze Star as a Captain in the U.S. Army and is currently a Colorado State Representative. Joe also served his country for four years in the U.S. Navy, and is now Tim's Campaign Manager.
"Barb and I are proud of the men they've grown up to be," Tim added.
Neville's Concern for Our Future
Tim's story is certainly one of the American Dream. Through hard work, personal responsibility and faith in God, starting with nothing, Tim achieved success, raised a beautiful family and provided his children with an opportunity to make a better future for themselves and their children.
But today, Neville's worried the American Dream is fading.
"I'm worried about my children's and grandchildren's future -- your children's and grandchildren's future. I'm worried they could grow up without the opportunities you and I had. I'm afraid the American Dream could become a thing of the past. That's what motivated me to run for State Senate back in 2011. And it's why I'm running to be your Republican nominee to take on and DEFEAT Democrat Michael Bennet in November 2016." Neville wrote in an email to supporters.
For Tim and his family, this race is about standing up and fighting for America's future.
After Neville became a thorn in the side of the big-government establishment in both parties as a state senator, Tim was "redistricted" into a Democrat-leaning district occupied by one of the most powerful Democratic senators in Colorado.
Several political experts and pundits called him "toast."
With the odds against him, Tim says the big-government establishment underestimated the power, determination, and work ethic of thousands of grassroots conservatives.
"We knocked on over 20,000 doors and raised nearly $180,000 -- more than any other Republican challenger in the state that year -- from over 1,500 hard-working grassroots supporters who wanted to make a difference," Neville proudly claimed.
That year, Neville's opponent outspent him 3-1. And against all odds, Neville won by more than 2,000 votes, giving Republicans a majority in the Colorado Senate for the first time in over a decade.
At that moment, however, Neville knew a big red target was painted on his back.
"They fear me the most because I'm a conservative who can win, so they're targeting me and what I stand for. And I stand for conservative values."
Neville's Grassroots Strategy for Victory
As part of Neville's grassroots campaign, Tim has been contacting conservatives nationwide to rally around his campaign, urging them to become a Citizen Cosponsor of his Constitutional Carry bill.
"I'm asking conservatives across the country to help me go to Washington and fight with the same courage and determination I've fought for your God-given rights," Neville explained.
Since the start of Neville's bid for U.S. Senate, he's amassed a significant number of conservative endorsements from key legislators across the state, including Colorado House members Patrick Neville, Justin Everett, Janak Joshi, Kim Ransom, Steve Humphrey, Kevin Van Winkle, Tim Leonard, Lori Saine and others.
On top of it, he captured the endorsement of state Senators Vicki Marble, Chris Holbert, Kevin Grantham and many more.
"I've proven my willingness to fight during my time in the State Senate," Neville proudly claimed.
According to the senator, his campaign is funded not by big corporate or special interest donors, but small donors giving $10, $25, $50, or even $100.
"Some folks may be able to contribute the legal maximum of $2,700 or $5,400 per couple," Neville explained, "But I also understand that $25 or $50 may be all many folks can give. I even know for some $5, $10 or $15 is a sacrifice."
With a campaign fueled by small donors and grassroots, the campaign is able to flex its grassroots support and mobilize activists for the primary.
The tactic seems to be working as many blogs and pundits rank Neville in the top tier. But the campaign is insistent this tactic only works if they have a groundswell of support.
