For the second time this year, the FBI has warned Congress that admitting people displaced by the Syrian civil war into the U.S. is a highly dubious venture, fraught with risks that terrorist fighters could slip in posing as “refugees.”

The most fundamental law in all of agriculture is that crops require water. Like humans, dogs, and brine shrimp, all life on planet Earth needs a regular influx of hydration to remain alive and well. While humans can circumvent nature in many ways, such as irrigating the Arizona desert to plant carrots or draining marshland to grow orchards, the sine qua non of all agricultural commodities is access to water -- or lack thereof.
While wheat in Eastern Europe, and specifically the Black Sea region, recently threatened the prices of other grain commodities, turnaround is fair play and the Black Sea wheat outlook has certainly turned around. New reports out of Ukraine suggest that dry soil conditions are posing a threat to crop yields and reducing the winter crop output in the pivotal breadbasket region. That's fantastic news for wheat investors, who have seen the commodity drop in value almost non-stop in the past 36 months.

Neocons shriek that the Shiite Assad is evil and the Neocon Obama insists that anyone messing with his Sunni pets in ISIS in Syria is "upsetting the balance" in the region. (Neocons described here).
But what balance?
The balance in the entire Muslim world had been upset since 632 AD, with Sunnis, the overwhelming majority, lording it over the less-radical Shiites. Thus of these 2 branches, Sunnis are by far the more violent and intolerant. Only Sunnis currently invade other countries (with US assistance) and kill non-believers such as Christians -- and sometimes even Shiites. Backed up by the compliant media, the Neocon Ministry of Propaganda, keeps feeding us the line that all Muslims are equally evil but that the Saudis (whose proxies ISIS, al Qaeda, al Nusra, and the McCain-funded "rebels" etc, keep slitting Christian throats) are necessary to American freedom.

Winning the Fight Over Raising the Debt Limit
- by Senior Economic Contributor Stephen Moore via The Orange County Register I and David Malpass, the respected New York-based economist at Encima Global, have drafted a plan that would provide reasonable restraints this time around. Currently the ratio of publicly held debt to gross domestic product stands at 74 percent. It is expected to drift up to closer to 100 percent of GDP over the next 24 years. That's a danger zone for sure. The Malpass/Moore plan would move the debt in the opposite direction. It would require Congress to reduce the debt-to-GDP ratio by 1 percentage point per year for the next 24 years to get our debt burden down to 50 percent - a safe zone.
