60 Plus Urges
Sandoval, Laxalt to Pull Plug on EPA’s “Clean Power Plan”
Shift to expensive,
unreliable “renewable” will raise prices and hurt seniors on tight fixed incomes
(NN&V Staff) – The 60 Plus Association, a national
organization representing senior citizens, sent a letter on Monday urging Nevada
Gov. Brian Sandoval and Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt to join the fight
to stop the Obama administration's so-called “Clean Power Plan.”
In the letter, 60 Plus Vice President Matthew Kandrach noted
that the proposed EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) rule “would
dramatically raise electricity prices on (Nevada’s) aging population.”
“In this difficult economy,” Kandrach wrote, “where most
seniors are still struggling to get by, such a massive increase in the cost of
a necessity like electricity will be devastating.”
60 Plus urges Nevada’s governor and attorney general “to
join 27 other states and sue the EPA over its illegal plan.”
