The Book of Revelation
In
Words of Understanding
Part 22
John
is now about to witness the coronation and marriage of the Lamb of God
in heaven. He has already seen and heard so very much yet God blesses
him with the ability to set down more revelations of all that he has
been shown.
You,
those that I send my sermons to have been exposed to so very much and I
sincerely pray that your attention has not waned as we learn the final
Chapters of this most informative Book of our Bible.
Revelation 19: 1 After
this I heard what sounded like the roar of a great multitude in heaven
shouting: "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God,
2 for true and just are his judgments. He has condemned the great prostitute
who corrupted the earth by her adulteries. He has avenged on her the blood of his servants." 3 And again they shouted: "Hallelujah! The smoke from her goes up for ever and ever."
2 for true and just are his judgments. He has condemned the great prostitute
who corrupted the earth by her adulteries. He has avenged on her the blood of his servants." 3 And again they shouted: "Hallelujah! The smoke from her goes up for ever and ever."
God
has rendered His judgment on the great whore named, “ Babylon the
Great.” Named as a whore due to her relationship with Satan instead of
rendering obedience to God, He has avenged those that shed their blood
for following His way. “The smoke from her,” signifies the wails and
gnashing of teeth emanating from those condemned for their continued
allegiance to sinfulness.
Revelation 19: 4 The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God, who was seated on the throne. And they cried:
"Amen, Hallelujah!" 5 Then a voice came from the throne, saying:
"Praise our God,
all you his servants,
you who fear him,
both small and great!" 6 Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:
"Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
We see the 24 Elders and the Israelites under the banners of the Lion, Calf, Man and Eagle fall and worship God.
“Amen, Hallelujah,” meaning,
‘truly,’ or ‘surely,’ and ‘praise the Lord.’ In context they are saying,
‘truly, we praise you Lord.’
Verse 5 references, “both
small and great.” This signifies that there will be a hierarchy in
heaven similar to that on earth. Jesus had His inner circle, the
apostles, as well as truthful followers.
So very vast was the chorus
of voices John heard that his description was, “like the roar of rushing
waters and like loud peals of thunder.” If you have ever been in a
storm with almost continuous thunder as a huge river rushed past you,
then you may imagine John’s description even better.
“Hallelujah,” ‘Praise the Lord.’
Revelation 19: 7 Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.
This verse tells us that the marriage of the Lamb has come about. The,
“wife,” signifies those that have accepted Jesus as their Lord and
Savior. The, “ready,” signifies that she is adorned with the many gifts
bestowed upon her by the Holy Spirit.
Revelation 19: 8 Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear." (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints.)
“The fine linen,” consists of
an inner as well as an outer garment. The ‘inner garment,’ signifies
being saved by the blood of Jesus Christ and the ‘outer garment’
signifies the righteous deeds performed by Jesus’ bride that were done
through doing the work of the Holy Spirit.
Not all will be adorned
in an exact like fashion as their adornment will be based on how each
individual ‘built upon the house of God.’ By this I am saying God will
set forth His positions of ‘authority,’ and ‘leadership,’ as He sees fit.
Revelation 19: 9 Then
the angel said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are invited to the
wedding supper of the Lamb!' " And he added, "These are the true words
of God."
The wedding has happened and John is now witnessing the wedding feast.
Revelation 19: 10 At
this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "Do not do
it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to
the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the
spirit of prophecy."
John
fell at the feet of his guide, an angel, as if to worship him. There
was a quick and definitive statement as John was told, “Do not do it!”
Think about what was being said!
John’s guide was saying, ‘Only God is to be worshiped! I, like God’s creation, am not to be worshiped.”
Just
as John’s guide said, and I now tell you, if you are calling on any
‘saints,’ any deceased person,’ or ‘any other imaginary religious entity
(Mary),’ STOP NOW! Only God is to be prayed to and no other!
Revelation 19: 11 I
saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose
rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war.
12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.
John
now sees Jesus Christ riding a white horse. This horse signifies the
Holy Spirit. This is when John witnesses the Second Coming of our Lord
and Savior
We must note and realize that Jesus is no longer seen as a Lamb but as the Lord of all.
The,
“many crowns,” are the many congregations and groups of saved that
accepted Him as their Lord and Savior. The, “robe dipped in blood,”
signifies the blood of His enemies as set forth in Isaiah 63:3.
Revelation 19: 14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 Out
of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations.
"He will rule them with an iron scepter." He treads the winepress of
the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
The,
“armies of heaven,” that followed Him are the hosts of heaven. This is
to say, angels, saints and every saved soul. Each was riding a “white
horse,” which is to say each was with the Holy Spirit.
The
“sharp sword,’ is the Word of God, which is TRUTH. The “iron rod,”
signifies God’s laws that are to be kept with strict obedience.
“KING OF KINGS, LORD OF LORDS,” needs no explanation! He is God, the Creator, and True God and there is no other.
(Closing prayer)
Father,
as we come to You and hear Your Word we ask that You accept our praise,
our worship and our everlasting love. You have chosen us to be Your
bride and we accept You as the only God. There is no other and never
shall be.
Just
as the angels bow to You, we bow to You and accept Your eternal Word as
what You have shown us to be, Your Way to salvation.
Lord,
may we be numbered among those that are seen as worthy of Your
presence. It is Your decision as to which of us might be seen as either
greater or lesser in status but no matter which, Lord, we pray for entry
to Paradise as Your servants.
As
we pray, we ask that You protect out military, enlighten our elected
leaders and judges, see to the safety of our police forces and those
charged with keeping us safe from the terrors of any that seek to do us
harm. We ask that You protect any in need of Your protection throughout
the world and feed them with Your Divine Word.
We
pray these things in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who
is One with You and the Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever,
Amen, amen and amen.
