WISCONSIN UNIONS WANT TO CONTINUE THEFT DESPITE VOTERS VICTORY

Dear Conservatives,

Wisconsin became the 25th Right to Work state earlier this year, but the battle is far from over.

International Association of Machinists (IAM) union bosses, fighting tooth and claw to hold on to their forced-dues powers, filed a lawsuit in Dane County Circuit Court just hours after Right to Work went into effect seeking to repeal the law.



In May, National Right to Work Foundation staff attorneys filed an amicus curiae brief for four independent-minded Wisconsin workers who wish to safeguard their right to refrain from paying dues to unions to which they don't belong.

IAM union lawyers asked the court to refrain from accepting the brief and silence these Foundation-assisted workers who refuse to toe the union-boss line
.

Make no mistake, they know that your Foundation has a long history of successfully defending Right to Work laws in state and federal court, most recently in Indiana and Michigan.

Earlier this month, Foundation staff attorneys and the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty responded, arguing that independent-minded workers who would be forced to pay tribute to union boss as a condition of employment can raise additional arguments not made by the state of Wisconsin defending its law.

If union bosses successfully gut or repeal Wisconsin's Right to Work law, then it's only a matter of time before they take aim at every Right to Work law across the country (not to mention the ongoing threat to every Right to Work law posed by the Obama Labor Board).

Even when Right to Work laws are upheld, a nasty, drawn-out legal battles may discourage the growing Right to Work movements in other forced-unionism states.

Defending and enforcing the 25 state Right to Work laws is a crucial component of the National Right to Work Foundation's strategic litigation program made possible by the generosity of Right to Work supporters like you.

Union lawyers hope to bleed us dry by filing groundless lawsuits against Right to Work laws to keep the Foundation from going on offense and bringing cases against forced-unionism schemes for victimized employees.
