Texas Muslims: Mandating Respect For Constitution And Texas State Law Is Offensive Islamophic Rhetoric

A
resolution which just passed the Irving, TX City Council
has some local Muslims up in arms. They are collectively
claiming that not being allowed to have their own separate
judicial system and being required to follow the same laws
and Constitution which every other person in the United
States must adhere to is somehow discriminatory against
them.
The
measure, which passed by a five to four vote, prohibits
the use of any legal system within the City of Irving
other than Texas law and the Constitution. It is
non-discriminatory and all-inclusive, making no
distinction based upon ethnicity, religion or national
origin. That objective impartiality doesn’t matter to the
complaining Muslims. Since the measure precludes them from
special privileges that they were seeking, and impedes
their customary non-assimilation, they’re falling back on
their version of the race card, the cry of “Islamophobia.”
One
Muslim activist, Omar Suleiman, labeled the action as the
“most disgraceful as a citizen in Irving.” Of course, he
wouldn’t be allowed to practice his own variety of law
under a totalitarian Sharia Muslim country, but that
factor doesn’t seem to enter into consideration. It’s only
disgraceful when he’s not allowed to bend the will and the
traditions of the American people to his rigid way of
thinking.
