Friends,
Mark your calendars!
Campus carry is scheduled for a hearing Thursday, March 5th at
8:00am, and I need your help to pack the room at the Grant Sawyer
building in Las Vegas and the hearing room at the legislature in Carson
City!
Now there is a key
difference between the campus carry legislation I introduced two years ago
and the bill I will be presenting next week. Last year the bill was
restricted to the college campus, and this year, I'm introducing "Amanda's
Law", in honor of Amanda Collins and the attack she went through, which
will allow you to carry your concealed firearm in any public building that
doesn't have a metal detector.

This bill is so important to me. As a mother of
two college age daughters, I
want to protect their right, and the rights of all of our
students, to defend themselves regardless of whether they are on a
college campus or in a public building.
We need your help to send a message to the Nevada Legislature that
it's time to pass campus carry and "Amanda's Law". Please contact the
members of the Assembly Judiciary committee and let them know that you
support AB148. You
can find a list of their email addresses here.
Please also plan to attend the hearing on Thursday, March 5th at
8:00am. We need to pack the hearing rooms in Carson City (401 S. Carson
Street) and Las Vegas (555 E. Washington Ave.). I will send you the room
numbers before the hearing.
This is the year we're going to pass campus carry, and we need your
help. I look forward to seeing you on Thursday!
