DEAR CHUCK, SCREW YOU! SIGNED, OBAMA
I just received my “screw you” notice from Anthem BlueCross
BlueShield. It advises me that even
though I like my current health care plan, as of December 31, 2014, I can no
longer keep it. Quote:
“To meet the requirements of the new (ObamaCare) laws, your current plan is no longer available in 2015.”
In addition, my family’s monthly premium is set to skyrocket
on January 1st by a whopping 30 percent…from $766 a month to over
$1,000!
And that’s with a $5,000 deductible!
And yet, there are Republicans in Congress who have given up
on repealing ObamaCare?
Thanks a lot, Obama.
And thank you, too, Sen. Reid, for shoving this monstrosity down the
nation’s throat. And taking even MORE
money out of my pocket.
UNLV’S TAINTED PREZ SEARCH
As I wrote in Saturday’s
e-newsletter, Ricardo Azziz, one
of the three finalists selected by the search committee for the vacant position
of president at UNLV, is the president of a school in Georgia who carries with
him enough controversial baggage to prevent lift-off of a Boeing 787
Dreamliner.
Well, there’s more…
Originally, the search committee had narrowed down the
number of applicants to four. However,
before presenting their names to the Board of Regents, two of the four
withdrew. So at the last minute, the
name of an otherwise rejected applicant was added to the mix.
So which candidate was added who wasn’t on the original
list?
The search committee isn’t saying. Which means rumors are flying.
One source close to the process, who asked not to be named,
tells me the search committee’s work in whittling down the pool of applicants
was personally directed by University Chancellor Dan Klaich, who I’m told “is completely in the tank for UNLV
Provost John White.”
“The search committee is a sham,” he tells me. “And Dan
Klaich probably chose two bums so White is the only choice.”
If you’re driving down Maryland Parkway today, make sure you
roll up your windows as you pass UNLV, cause the stench emanating from the
campus will gag you.
GOP’S LOOMING FALL SWEEP IN NEVADA
Based on turnout figures in early voting so far, there’s no
way “Republican” Gov. Brian Sandoval
(R&R Advertising) or GOP lieutenant governor candidate Mark Hutchison can lose. As
such, conservatives may feel free in good conscience to cast a protest vote for
“None of the Above” or one of the third-party candidates running.
Also, based on turnout projections every one of the other
four statewide, constitutional offices should be won by Republicans, though
they could still be close. We’re talking
about Adam Laxalt for attorney
general, Barbara Cegavske for
secretary of state, Dan Schwartz for
treasurer and Ron Knecht for
controller.
Even Republican Cresent
Hardy is now given a good chance to unseat Democrat Rep. Steven Horsford in Nevada’s 4th
congressional district, sending him to DC with fellow Republican Reps. Joe Heck and Mark Amodei!
Also, with all the money and institutional support he’s sold
his soul for, Senate Minority Leader Moderate Mike Roberson (RINO-Henderson) and his two hand-picked
mushy-moderate candidates, Becky Harris
(SD9) and Patricia Farley (SD8)
should all win their races comfortably and give the GOP the majority in the
upper house.
Not that they’ll do anything conservative with it. But
still.
And according to my numbers expert, the incomparable Dan Burdish, if the turnout numbers
stay consistent, Republicans could, unbelievably, also win the majority in the
state Assembly, too!
Not that they’ll do anything conservative with it. But still.
Indeed, with a sweep of the six statewide races, 3 out of 4
congressional seats, as well as a GOP take-over of both houses of the
Legislature being all but handed to them on a silver platter, only Republicans
could possibly blow this opportunity to not blow this opportunity.
Oh, and by the way…especially in an election cycle
environment such as this, conservative Republican candidates would just as
easily have won many of these seats in swing districts as moderate Republicans -
if they’d had the same resources, funding and support from the GOP “establishment.”
Which they didn’t.

FAMOUS LAST WORDS
“At a Democratic rally Friday in Massachusetts, Hillary
Clinton’s attempt to attack 'trickle-down economics,' resulted in a
spectacularly odd statement, according to The Washington Free Beacon. … She
(stated) that businesses and corporations are not the job creators of
America. 'Don’t let anybody tell you that it’s corporations and businesses that
create jobs,' the former Secretary of State said.” – FoxNews.com, 10/26/14
