KEYSTONE DEBACLE PROVES OBAMA'S INTENT TO KEEP US DEPENDENT ON FOREIGN OIL!

Dear Conservatives,

With or without Keystone XL, the Canadian oil sands will continue to be developed.
At the American Energy Alliance we have been saying this for years, but the environmental left has refused to acknowledge basic economics.

Global demand for crude oil is simply too high for it not to be developed, regardless of whether or not it comes through the U.S. by pipeline.

But by denying Keystone XL, we are missing out on the opportunity to improve the American economy and strengthen our country’s energy infrastructure.

In a recent article at Forbes by Robert Bradley Jr. who is the founder of our sister organization, the Institute for Energy Research, our predictions were confirmed.
As Bradley writes in the article, TransCanada has announced plans to create an alternative to Keystone XL that lies entirely within Canada’s borders.

The pipeline would transport crude from Alberta’s oil sands to Canada’s east coast and then ship it to buyers across the globe.

Green activists will tout this as a victory against Keystone, but the victory is only symbolic.
For years environmentalists argued the myth that Keystone XL would increase carbon emissions by encouraging the production of crude from Alberta’s oil sands.
But as we’ve stated above, Canadian oil sands were going to be developed whether Keystone is completed or not.

In reality, all these green activists have accomplished is the denial of 42,000 new jobs and numerous economic benefits in the U.S.

But there is still time!
The Obama administration recently pushed their final decision on Keystone until after the upcoming midterm elections, and if approved, we still have a chance to reap the benefits from Alberta’s oil resources.

With your help we can continue to build support for the Keystone pipeline.

With public opinion on our side, Obama will have no choice but to approve Keystone XL.

Sincerely,
Tom Pyle
