STOP THE OUTRAGEOUS SPENDING - PETITION FOR 'BALANCED BUDGET'
Dear Conservatives,
Higher taxes, more spending, and no reform.
The $3.9 TRILLION federal budget Barack Obama has proposed for the new fiscal year is a rerun of every terrible fiscal idea he’s ever had, and then some.
It would impose $1.2 trillion in new tax hikes on the country, from airlines to death taxes to new taxes on small businesses.
It would undo the sequester cuts and spend billions on numerous failed programs -- so much so that the Treasury Department estimates yearly federal spending would almost double, from $3.5 trillion in 2013 to $6 trillion in 2024.
That would include $750 million on federal funding of preschool, $5 billion to Obama’s political supporters via so-called “green energy” loans, and a $1 billion “climate fund” to fight global warming.
And it doesn’t stop there.
It would let existing fiscal bombs keep ticking, by continuing to fund ObamaCare and ignore the rising costs of Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare -- leaving them on the path to complete collapse.
Obama admits his proposal would raise annual deficits to at least $4.9 trillion for the next ten years -- but of course, other estimates look even worse.
The Congressional Budget Office and White House Office of Management and Budget both expect deficits higher than $7 trillion per year.
All in all, Obama’s budget would leave us with a $25 TRILLION national debt by the end of the next decade, not counting some $70 trillion in so-called entitlement obligations.
Does this make any sense?
Aren’t we already in debt to the tune of more than 17 TRILLION dollars?
The fact is, President Obama will continue to demand more and more of our tax dollars and will drive us deeper into debt, which is why it’s so important that you and I force members of Congress to hold the line.
Thanks for all that you do.
Sincerely,
Gary Paumen, President
National League of Taxpayers
P.S. The good news is, the tough Balanced Budget Amendment endorsed by the National League of Taxpayers, H.J. Res. 5 and S.J. Res. 7, would stop budgets like this dead in their tracks.
In addition to making government spend within its means, this amendment would require a two-thirds vote to raise taxes, making it far harder for presidents to hide spending behind new so-called “revenue” sources.
