In 2012, the Obama administration announced the creation of a "public advocate" position — in essence, a government-paid position within ICE to help lawbreakers thwart the law.
Last year, this position was defunded, but we have learned that the administration has quietly changed the title of the position to "deputy assistant director of custody programs and community outreach," and kept the same person in the position with the same duties, but changed the title.
HR 3732, the Immigration Compliance Enforcement (ICE) Act, would stop the Administration from being able to pull a fast one like this again.
