It’s vital you act TODAY to stop tax-and-spend politicians from extending our fiscal catastrophe, which could happen as early as TOMORROW.
As I send you this email, Congress is set to vote on yet another debt ceiling increase, despite the $17 TRILLION debt already on the book.
The last debt ceiling deal extended the borrowing deadline to this Friday, February 7, and like Chicken Little, Barack Obama’s Treasury Department wails that we’ll hit economic Armageddon by the end of the month.
Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi are using that message of fear to push an unconditional, YEAR-LONG raise, with no spending cuts whatsoever.
And they’re hoping they can pressure Republicans to go along with them.
So I’m hoping you’ll help me stop it by clicking here to sign your fax authorization petition to your U.S. Senators and Congressman IMMEDIATELY and urging them to vote against raising the debt ceiling.
The fact is, we can’t keep pretending money grows on trees.
Our $17 trillion national debt is unsustainable. Medicare and Social Security are destined for bankruptcy, and continuing to spend money we don’t have threatens to put America on a path of permanent decline.
Obama and his apologists continue to scare-monger about the dangers of hitting the debt ceiling, but nothing could be further from the truth.
The idea of default is nonsense.
If the debt ceiling isn’t raised, the federal government would simply have to apply the money that comes in daily to America’s existing obligations, starting with interest.
Congress would finally be forced to balance the budget by spending within its means.
But the tax-and-spenders are willing to deepen our fiscal hole just to continue their spending spree on the taxpayers’ dime.
So there’s no time to waste. The vote will definitely happen, but could come as early as TOMORROW’S official borrowing deadline.
Either way, we need to mobilize as much grass-roots opposition as we can in a short amount of time.
