BYE-BYE SUBWAY
I just
ate at Subway last Friday night in Lake Elsinore, California…so yes, I am an
occasional customer. But a firestorm has
erupted over yesterday’s announcement that the food chain has caved into First
Lady Michelle Obama’s nanny-state “war
on childhood obesity.”
According
to the Washington Post, Subway has agreed “to only include the most nutritious
foods on its kids menu and meet the restrictions the federal government has
placed on school lunches to include apples on the side and low-fat or nonfat
milk or water as a beverage.”
“I
asked companies to stop targeting kids with unhealthy products,” Obama said.
“We need to vote with our wallets. That’s how we get even more fresh
food in our communities.”
Screw
‘em. I’ll stick with Capriotti’s.
TOO MUCH HUTCH SENDS
ACTIVIST TO THE SHOWERS!
The
Carson City GOP held a candidate forum Thursday night featuring the two
Republicans running for lieutenant governor, conservative Sue Lowden and moderate establishment-backed Mark Hutchison. Here’s a
first-hand report from an attendee that was texted to me right after the event…
And
here’s the latest example of what this person is talking about...
Hutch’s
campaign – following up on a non-story pushed out this morning by his
unofficial press secretary, liberal blogger Jon Ralston – belched out this statement this Friday afternoon:
In
the immortal words of Rep. Joe Wilson,
“YOU LIE!”
In
the radio interview in question, Lowden noted that back in the 1980s, when Ronald Reagan was president, Reid, then
in the House of Representatives, was considered a conservative Democrat…which
is true.
Conservative
Democrats back then were generally referred to as “Reagan Democrats,” and that’s
what Lowden was saying. She never even
came CLOSE to saying Harry Reid is still, today, a “Reagan conservative.”
And
by the way, the whole thing was a setup by a planted caller on behalf of
Hutchison asking about donations Lowden and her husband made to Reid way back in
the 1980s totaling all of about $5,000 over a period of ten years.
Now
contrast that to the reported $2 MILLION (and counting) the Lowdens
spent trying to DEFEAT Reid in 2010!
This
attack by Hutch is just total bull-$#!+ and a perfect example of how Hutch’s
disingenuous campaign continues to distort the truth – especially how it’s
trying to cover up his pro-tax hike voting record and voting record in favor of
implementing ObamaCare here in Nevada.
I think
I need to go take a shower!
CRESENT’S FOOLHARDY
COMMENTS
Establishment
Republican Assemblyman Cresent Hardy
is running for the GOP nomination in Nevada’s 4th congressional
district against tea party conservative Niger
Innis. And some of the things Hardy said
in a recent interview published
by the Mesquite Citizen Journal will
certainly raise a few conservative eyebrows…
Can’t
wait for the Hardy-Innis debates! When
and where will the first one be?
