In a developing story, Sheriff Nick Finch was arrested, charged with a felony and suspended
without pay for supporting a citizen’s 2nd Amendment rights. It’s not a story you hear every day.
It’s certainly not a story you’d expect out of a county named Liberty.

The events began when Floyd Eugene Parrish, a Florida resident, was arrested and detained by one of Finch’s deputies for carrying a firearm without a permit on March 8th, 2013. In the state of Florida, this lands you a 3rd degree felony charge. Finch released Parrish because, in his assessment, Parrish was not a violent criminal and was acting innocuously. Finch called the clerk and told her not to draw up arrest documents until he was there to assess the situation. Note, Parrish had not been officially booked into jail- only detained.Finch

Rule of Lawlessness

For four and a half abominably long years, we have recounted Barack Obama's lawlessness. He makes his own laws and ignores others, consistently showing an intractable contempt for Rule of Law. In a rebuke to the president, however, the DC Circuit Court of Appeals last week issued a writ of mandamus, an unusual direct judicial order for the government to satisfy its legal obligation.

The matter at hand is Nevada's Yucca Mountain nuclear waste storage facility. Long story short, candidate Obama promised to close the facility, and after he was elected his Energy Department attempted to revoke the Yucca Mountain license application. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) ruled unanimously that he couldn't do that -- so Obama stacked the NRC with appointees who shared his opposition to Yucca. The NRC then refused to conduct a review of the facility for licensing, despite a 1983 law requiring the review and Congress appropriating money for said review.

The National Salvation Front, a coalition of pro-democratic and secular parties in Egypt, set out its objections to remarks made by President Barack Obama Thursday on the escalating violence in Egypt.

Led by Ahmed Said of the Free Egyptians Party, the group issued the following letter:

"Like most Egyptians, we listened with attention to your statement on Egypt's latest developments. As representatives of the non-Islamic political forces in Egypt, we believe in the same fundamental values on which the U.S. was founded. Be we also have 7,000 years of civilization and history that give us a special identity that we are fighting to keep since the Muslim Brotherhood came to power.

Here's the scary part: These violent felons will probably never face deportation. As I reported before (http://laiglesforum.com/wanted-a-few-bad-men/98.htm), just for example, the York County Prison, about 1/3 of whose inmates are illegal alien felons, has an INS center on its northwest corner with the stated objective of assisting foreign nationals with their green card paper work.

This center was in place during the Bush administration and probably before as well. I know because my wife was given the address as the nearest INS help center and we used it to file papers related to an invitation to our nieces and nephews who were orphaned.

There were denied the application but the felons housed there are NEVER denied!

We are in major major doo-doo. It is one thing for a government to be negligent, but quite another to deliberately choose violent felons over applicants with legitimate reasons for emigrating and with relatives who are willing and able to take care of them.

Can you think of any worse perfidy?

But those who perpetrate these criminal policies will eventually pay. The price is called unintended consequences.
