Upper Slaughter is a sleepy little village which lies tucked away near to Bourton-on-the-Water in the heart of The Cotswolds. A local tourist area, it is reminiscent in part of a forgotten era so different from the urban jungles of city life which dot the United Kingdom’s cities and sprawling suburbs. Our media remembered President Kennedy, but not what he stood for in global affairs and what made him a communist target. On Friday, Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings unveiled a monument inscribed with the last words of a speech that Kennedy never got to deliver to businessmen at the Dallas Trade Mart. The words included: “We in this country, in this generation, are—by destiny rather than choice – the watchmen on the walls of world freedom.”......
