The Time to Fight is Now! Dear Loyal Supporters, We have two major battles facing us in Washington, D.C.   At the root of both, is a battle between limited government-living within our means conservatives versus big government-deficit spending liberals.  The Two Major Battles Harry Reid's Shutdown It's Congress' responsibility to insure America's fiscal solvency. After years of running budget deficits and seeing a ballooning national debt nearing $17 trillion, Tea Party Republicans in the House and Senate have finally said, "Enough is enough!" Looking at Obamacare, which the Congressional Budget Office has projected will cost $1.8 trillion, Republicans responsibly decided it is just something that we cannot afford. Unfortunately, Harry Reid decided to act in a strictly hyper-partisan manner and shutdown the government to save a largely unpopular and harmful law. Americans don't want Obamacare and the economy can't afford it, yet Harry Reid and the Democrats have been unwilling to listen. That's why we are fighting alongside Congressional Republicans to defund the law. Debt Ceiling Fiasco The President has spoken unequivocally: "I will not negotiate on the debt ceiling." His arrogance is unprecedented.  Even Reagan was willing to negotiate with the Soviets during the Cold War, why is Obama not willing to show the same leadership on a critical fiscal issue? We need to get something done. Defaulting on our debt is irresponsible, but continuing down a path of unsustainable spending is equally reckless. So, the Republicans must stand on principle and demand that Democrats sit down at the negotiating table. President Obama wants Tea Party Republicans to surrender before he is willing to talk. However, that's not how things should be done. The time to address our fiscal issues is now. If we don't stand united and demand a balanced approach, America will continue down the path of Greece. We must make D.C. listen. With your strong support, we carried your voice to the halls of Congress and forced the Republican leadership into fighting alongside us. Now we must ensure that President Obama and the Democrats in Congress hear the voice of the silent majority.
