Boehner selectively prescribes Hastert Rule Speaker of the House John Boehner says that the Hastert Rule will determine whether or not the Senate Immigration Bill will see the light of day in the lower chamber of Congress. Boehner told reporters today, “I don’t see any way of bringing an immigration bill to the floor that doesn’t have a majority support of Republicans.” While this is good news — seeing that the terrible GO8 bill fails to secure the border and endangers our liberties — Boehner needs to more consistently prescribe this rule.
