Yesterday, at 4:23 PM eastern, Harry Reid forced a final vote on the Gang of Eight’s S. 744 – just a few hours after cloture was invoked – and it passed with 68 yays and 32 nays. Despite its passage, the Gang of Eight bill remains to be a terrible, unworkable piece of legislation that defies common sense. Supreme Court Gay Marriage Ruling: Stigmatization of America Throughout the United States, gay marriage proponents are celebrating, proclaiming that the Supreme Court’s rulings on the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and California’s Proposition 8 has made the legalization of gay marriage the law of the land. They are now aiming at ensuring that gay couples may receive full marriage benefits in each of the 50 States.
