On close inspection, however, the hoops illegal immigrants are required to jump through do not amount to much. Each of the following five claims about the requirements for illegal immigrants to earn amnesty are not what they seem.
Myth #1...Illegals must pay back taxes (a lie)
Myth #2...Illegals must learn English (a lie)
Myth #3...Illegals must pass a background check (a lie)
Myth #4...Illegals must pay a fee and a fine (a lie)
Myth #5...Illegals must "go to the back of the line" behind legal aliens (a lie)
Amnesties do not constitute a benefit to public safety.( another lie)
But ultimately, enforcement of immigration laws, rather than mass legalization, is the only legitimate response to the problem.
