Open Letter to the Alabama Legislature on Common Core
Providing knowledge and the freedom to make their own choices for future Alabama citizens is the responsibility of every current Alabama citizen. From all that has been learned of about the real intent behind the common core state standards initiative, it is concluded that turning over to the federal government the mandating of what is taught to Alabama students is less harmful than what will not be taught. There is no indication that American history our founding principles will be taught, resulting in nothing more than worker drones subservient to the will of the state in just a couple of generations.
You are urged to carefully consider the consequences of any vote you take on issues relating to any federal government plan regarding education.

Comment of Lee Smith: Kevin i have spoke to my two grandchildren educated in Alabama over the last few years, one fifteen and one eleven, they have very little knowledge of even the basic American History.
