Please welcome Nevada Republican State Senator Barbara Cegavske. Cegavske attended Mayo High School in Rochester, Minnesota. She then attended Clark County Community College in Las Vegas. Cegavske was a Franchise Owner of 7-Eleven from 1984 to 1996. She then worked as Director of Development for WestCare Foundation from 2000 to 2003. Cegavske is currently a Consultant. Cegavske served in the Nevada State Assembly from 1997 to 2001. She served as Assistant Minority Whip in 1997. She then joined the Nevada State Senate in 2002. She has served in that position since, representing the Clark 8 District. In 2005 and 2007 Cegavske served as Chair of Legislative Operations and Elections and during the recent 75th Legislation Session served as Senate Minority Whip. During that session, Cegavske did not support the sales tax hike, increased vehicle registration fees, nor the payroll tax hike.
Please welcome New Member & Conservative Publisher Greg Brooks. New to Las Vegas, Brooks is a former journalist, founding publisher of a conservative newspaper, and long-time marketing, PR and public affairs pro. He directed public relations for the Phoenix-based Goldwater Institute, one of the nation’s leading conservative state think tanks, and also led public affairs for the LA-based Reason Foundation. In Kansas City, Brooks also founded The Monitor, a right-leaning newspaper that went on to become the No. 1 media choice among conservatives in the region. He’s spent 20-plus years creating strategies, messages and programs that move media, legislators and voters.

SAHARA, SOUTHWEST CORNER OF DURANGO AND SAHARA -  CLICK HERE FOR MAP WHEN: Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 7PM. Suggest arriving at 6:15PM if planning to dine.  For additional information contact bobbie@lasvegasrepublicantownhallgroup.com.  $5.00 EXPENSE DONATION IS REQUESTED:   We are a non-profit group that has monthly Restaurant Expense and as a professional courtesy, we pay for Special Guest Speaker (only) meals as well as other expenses that must be paid if we are to continue operating each month.  To offset these costs, we ask for a $5.00 donation in lieu of a membership fee from all attending, we thank you for supporting all that we do.  FORMAT:  We follow Robert's Rules of Order.  This allows each speaker adequate time to give an important and meaningful presentation without interruption.  Teleprompters are not available so when a speaker loses his or her place when interrupted, this can be very confusing.  We do allow for Q&A after their presentation.  Please ask those important questions not statements during the Q&A.  Depending upon time constraints and number of speakers, we may ask that you be limited to one question.  Your courtesy is expected and appreciated.  OUR MOTTO: ‘Where Civil and Intelligent Conservative Discussions Make a Difference'
