Please vote in favor of HB1616:
Makers of drones are pushing Congress to open the skies to their use to provide law-enforcement and local code enforcers the ability to spy on you.
In Virginia, the law prohibits law-enforcement from tracking you using GPS or to intercept your personal communications without a warrant. Why is that? Because it violates the 4th amendment.
Why, then, should they be allowed to use unmanned drones to follow you and take pictures of you to track your activity without a warrant?
HB1616 prohibits the domestic use of drones for surveillance by state agencies, organizations, or any department of law enforcement in Virginia without a warrant.
The bill came up late in the day on Monday, January 21. Arguments from both sides were heard but there were members of the committee who had not read the 13-page bill so it was carried over until their next meeting on Monday, January 28, 2013. The meeting convenes immediately after session adjourns in House Room C.
Respectfully,

Dear Senator,
As a 2nd Amendment supporter I strongly urge you to vote against SB 1299. This bill would force State Police to provide sensitive information, including juvenile records, to the Federal Government to deny Virginians their right to bear arms.
By federalizing the Commonwealth’s criminal database, any Virginian would be subject to Federal scrutiny by bureaucrats like Obama’s corrupt Attorney General, Eric Holder.
Currently, Virginia State Police already provide sensitive information regarding dangerous criminals who shouldn’t own firearms.
SB 1299 would allow the National Instant Background Check to override Virginia’s criminal database system and make it more difficult for our police to access information on criminals and virtually impossible for police to reinstate the rights of Virginians who are no longer criminals.
Please oppose and vote against SB 1299. The National Association for Gun Rights will keep me informed on your vote.
Sincerely,

HB1450 & SB824 establish a "new fund". The money comes from a TAX. The planning district has the sole right to spend this money:
- New 1% sales tax in the Tidewater regional planning district which goes from Gloucester to the NC border.
- They will the right to Issue bonds.
- Millions (if not billions) to spend and they will plan all the projects with no required input from anyone.
NOTES:
The GA Needs to approve expenditures but all the projects will be determined solely by the Hampton Roads Planning District.
Ballot referendum required and those generally pass quite easily........

Dear Delegates,
Please protect the inherent rights of farmers by sending HB1430 to the floor for a vote.
The "pitchfork protest" that received national attention in August of 2012 is coming to Richmond on Monday, January 28, 2013.
There will be a rally at the Bell Tower on capitol grounds at 3:30 p.m. and a press conference at 4:00 p.m. in support of the Boneta Bill, HB1430. If you support the right of citizens to farm their land and wish to show support for the Boneta bill, please join us at the Bell Tower to give voice to your beliefs.
Respectfully,

Dear Speaker Howell,
In concert with my fellow property rights activists, I respectfully request that you immediately bring HB2223 before the committee for a vote on the House floor.
Since you took an oath to uphold the constitution, it is incredible to me and others to find that you sided with the sustainablists by sending Delegate Ben Cline's anti-Agenda 21 bill to his Rules Committee to die. Our property rights have always been and should always remain an inalienable right.
If you took advantage of Donna Holt's presentation about sustainability and Agenda 21, you should have a very good understanding of what's at risk for your property rights. If you did not accept your invitation, I urge you to make an effort to either confer with your fellow legislators who attended or will read the very condensed Agenda 21 pamphlet.
Sustainablists would have you believe that "communitarianism" is the only way for future generations to provide for their needs and that single family homes are not sustainable.
They assert that your individual wants, needs, and desires are to be conformed to the views and dictates of government planners.
They say, "in the process of implementing Sustainable Development, individual rights will have to take a back seat to the collective".
What sustainablists consider to be sustainable is the single greatest threat to liberty and property.
The founders would be appalled!
HB2223 prohibits adoption of policies and the flow of money for the implementation of policies traceable to Agenda 21 in the Commonwealth to control every aspect of our lives.
In the three years we have fought to protect private property rights, not one local elected official or local planner can name a single activity on your land that doesn't require permission by government. Their central planning scheme is a direct assault your property rights and ignores the 5th amendment.
Private property consists not only in the ownership and possession of property, but in the unrestricted right to use, enjoy and dispose of your property. When the right to use your property without restriction is denied, the value is extinguished and so, too, is your wealth.
Speaker Howell, please do not make our right to own property a baron right.
Respectfully,
|
