Help Bring Canadian Oil to American Refineries
The situation in the Middle East -- highly volatile, complex, dangerous, and on-going for centuries -- should be impetus enough for Americans to want to completely extricate themselves from any Middle East oil dependency, not to mention Mexican and Venezuelan oil. There is a private Canadian company, TransCanada Corporation, that has applied for licenses and permits to bring oil from rich Canadian reserves to refineries in Texas via a new state-of-the-art pipeline with technologically new safety enhancements. The Keystone Project XL would be a boon to America’s crude oil imports, as the plan is to send 700,000 barrels-per-day (and up to 830,000 bpd if pumping capacity is increased) south to Texas refineries. However, it’s going to be up to the State Department to recommend an appropriate action to the President, as the pipeline crosses the border between Canada and the United States. Then, the project would either be approved or denied by the President alone via an executive order.

Thanks to a letter written by a concerned citizen, Nevada owners of a concealed weapons (CCW) permit may soon be able to purchase more firearms without further background checks and the associated $25 fee.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE, also commonly referred to as ATF) is reviewing legislation passed this last session to determine if Nevada again qualifies for an exemption from the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) check. If the legislation meets BATFE requirements, the federal agency will issue an open letter to Nevada federal firearms licensees, or dealers, informing them a CCW permit will now suffice for firearm purchases.OBAMA FOUND IT NECESSARY TO LIE ABOUT ISLAM!

These words have no basis in fact. Islam is not part of our civilization because its foundational principles are opposite to ours. Our civilization is built on the foundation of critical thought (how we think) and the Golden Rule (ethics). Islam is built on submission (authoritative thought) and ethical dualism.

Democrat Kate Marshall -- last heard from informing Nevada voters that she's "in charge of their money," and that they have "less money today than [they] had yesterday" -- has committed another unforced, amateurish error. Her campaign failed to delete a private, background note from a press release regarding Marshall's stance on American-Israeli relations. Heh:

Islamic Supremacism Trumps Christianity at Ground Zero
By Pamela GellerWhile New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg works in anxious haste to build the cultural obscenity that is the Ground Zero mosque, the iconic St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, which was built in 1916 and destroyed in the attack on the World Trade Center towers by Muslim terrorists, remains vanquished, unable to rebuild.
Bloomberg is lobbying for 9/11 taxpayer funds for the Islamic supremacist grifters behind the Ground Zero mosque, but St. Nicholas Church is in purgatory ten years after the worst day in modern American history.
Perhaps St. Nicholas Church should claim that it is a mosque -- then Bloomberg and New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn would probably pour the cement for its foundation. Remember: the New York Daily News reported last December that "Mayor Bloomberg's top deputies went to great lengths to help those trying to build a mosque at Ground Zero -- even drafting a letter to the community board for them."

Warning to budget mavens: ‘Tax expenditures’ may yield less than expected
Excerpt: It’s sometimes seen as the holy grail of revenues — a huge pot of money hidden in the tax code, ready to be exploited to rebalance the gap between spending and revenues. We’re talking about “tax expenditures,” which include everything from the home mortgage deduction for homes to tax credits for college loans or energy-efficient vehicles. In the past 20 years, scores of such provisions have popped up in the tax code, in part because it has been easier to win approval for tax cuts than new spending programs. Some people, such as Simpson above, argue that these really are spending programs in disguise, though he overstates the case when he calls them “earmarks,” which are generally targeted to a small number of people. Millions of Americans benefit from these provisions. In fact, one study by the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities concluded that if the estimated $1 trillion revenue loss from tax expenditures were counted as a spending item, then it would dwarf the annual spending for Medicare and Medicaid ($719 billion), Social Security ($701 billion) and national defense ($689 billion).
