Although I am a black man, I have nothing in common with Obama other than a good tan. If you are disgusted by Obama's socialist policies that are destroying our country, then I hope you read this letter. Obama and I have traveled distinctly different paths.
When Obama was consorting with Communist mentors like Frank Marshall Davis, I was earning my Eagle Scout rank.
When Obama was smoking various controlled substances, I was defending our country as an Air Force Officer and Air Force Academy graduate.
When Obama was palling around with terrorist Bill Ayers and attending Jeremiah Wright's "G..D... America" church, I was raising a family.
I am running for Congress to stop the damage Obama and his allies are doing to our country. I will fight for a return to a limited Constitutional Republic with unlimited economic opportunity.
I am pro-life, pro-marriage, and pro-guns. I believe that we must secure the border, make English the official language, stop printing ballots in foreign languages, and stop birthright citizenship for illegals and legal visitors.
According to the Rothenburg Report, the 8th District in North Carolina is the district most likely to defeat a Democrat and elect a Republican. Democrat incumbent Larry Kissell is the most vulnerable
Congressman in the country.The only question for you is what kind of a Republican do you want in Congress? Do you want a weak Republican who will fold like a lawn chair or a strong Conservative who will champion Constitutional, limited government principles?
I am running in the 8th District to be your conservative voice in Washington.
You may not have heard of me yet, but look what the Left has said about me.
- The Raleigh News and Observer columnist Barry Saunders said that I am the spiritual heir of Jesse Helms.
- The Winston-Salem Journal declared in a column, "Jesse Helms is back. This time he's BLACK."
- Liberal Keith Olbermann declared me the 2nd worst person in the world.
But how can you be sure that I will stick to my guns, if elected?
During my eight years on the Winston-Salem City Council, I had a consistent track record of conservative leadership for limited government. I have fought big spending. I opposed every tax increase. I defended the local Boy Scouts from a few homosexual activists. I even voted against my largest donor and best friend because they both wanted corporate welfare. You know what I'll do in Washington because I've already done it at home.
I am already under attack by the Far Left and their "useful idiots" in the drive-by media. People for the American Way, a liberal activist organization, has already targeted my campaign.
I am ready for the fight, my friend, but I cannot win it without your help. I do not come from money. My father was a Tuskegee Airman, my mother was a nurse, and I have devoted much of my life to public service. I have no quarrel with those whose entrepreneurial pursuits have netted them tremendous financial rewards -- even speculators like George Soros, I am just not one of them.
I hate asking for contributions, but I've been around elections long enough to have learned this simple truth: if I do not ask you for money, a liberal Democrat will have this seat in Congress next year. I have to rely on the contributions and prayers of thousands of likeminded Americans like you, in the hope that you care enough about the values we share to contribute to the effort.
